The first words out of her mouth were, “He looks so old!” And that’s really all you need to know about the first (and possibly last) presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump — the initial impressions of a fourth-grade girl in Brooklyn who has never watched a debate in her life. This was not an example of the unacknowledged truth slipping from the mouth of babes; it was, rather, a universal response, a shattering moment that has upended the race and led to a swell of calls for Biden to step aside. And there is a part of me that regrets that she had to experience it.

I just watched the debate too. Biden looks so tired and old. Trump is pretty old too, but he still has the energy. I realized I had never watched a young Donald Trump speak, so I looked up some interviews from the 80's and 90's. He's always been the same guy. The Trump who spoke in 1987 on Larry King? It's like he time traveled in a wrinkled fat suit into '24. As an aside, it was also funny how Biden almost always looked like he was seething at someone farting in the room.

The problem is the person that's actually handling meetings with foreign leaders is Blinken and he is just so fucking useless. That's Biden's problem in reality; he's not just a shitty figurehead, he has shitty ministers that don't have the authority or initiative to make the kinds of agreements that other world leaders want. After all, Biden's dumbass mouth called Xi a brutal dictator right after this photo was taken and undid all the work Blinken did to get to this point.

I'm sure it's been echoed in this thread already but I'd be shocked if Biden didn't have Parkinson's. My grandfather suffered from it before he died, and the way Biden trails off mid-thought and carries himself around are a spot-on match to how my grandpa (a very sharp guy up until that point) talked and moved in his last months. What's scary about it is how quickly it eats away at you. If he does have Parkinson's I doubt he'll be around much longer, even with all they're pumping him with.

Watching the debate I felt bad for Joe, even as someone who never had any real fondness for him, didn't vote for him and certainly is not living any better under his administration. But regardless of what I think of him that was debasing, and his wife and handlers should really be ashamed, as should the DNC for gaslighting their base into thinking that he's fit for any of this. Of course, I don't think this is a huge shock to people who have been paying attention, but if Democrats have any self-worth they'll hold their party responsible for enabling this.

I'm generally ambivalent towards any of this shit because I think there's going to be violence (actual violence not something the J6 "attack" lol) no matter what the outcome of the election is, but this was really, genuinely sad to watch.

In fact, I said, a colleague of mine said she would rather have Undead Biden than Alive-and-Breathing Trump in the White House, and naturally I feel the same, but that it didn’t seem responsible to vote for someone who has so manifestly deteriorated in the last four years and would no doubt deteriorate even further in the next four.

You already got Undead Biden for 4 years, the media (and that includes you) loved to proclaim how Biden totally wasn't slipping into dementia and old age. This is also pretty funny, because most of the time in past debates, it was Trump who made himself look a little too aggressive (imo), but that was because of how often he'd interrupt, so it was mainly on him, not on "framing and lighting." Now that Biden has been exposed as being barely coherent, the liberals don't have anything to fall back on besides "he had a cold/was sick" or "it was the lighting" in an attempt to distract from Biden's terrible performance.
