Suggestions for new styles. - I'm getting tired of the 7 we have.

As all of you know, there is a style chooser here to change the color of how KF looks like, from the iconic Kiwi Green to the bold Biden Blue, the Chink China Red or the weeb Kawaii. However, I would like some new styles, maybe not like 50 gorillion, but 2-3 would be nice. This thread is to suggest what styles would you like to be added, the color of said style, and what would the style be called.

My suggestion?

A style called "Pride Pink" and the color resembles the pink in the troon flag.


Or perhaps a "Sonichu Yellow"

A red theme that isn't China-related and goes a shade or two darker on the red would be nice.

Sonichu yellow would make sense, then have blue and green accents. Or maybe a Chris Chan piss yellow tint.

I would like an all black style, one that darkens the black to the tone as the text box.

If there's a style that can change the background colour of a post (that isn't light mode, god), to be lighter, I'll be happy. Seeing text in this colour in the default skin is eye-straining.

Set your site style to KF 2021 (dark) and install a style addon like Stylus to apply (Firefox/Tor Browser, Chrome/Chromium). Finally, copy the CSS into Stylus for the kiwifarms.net domain.

3. New posts active menu element now inherits theme color properly

I have an idea who about we make a light version of Kawaii theme? I jsut tried the the 2022 theme and like it. That said purple is my favorite color.

Necroing/reviving this thread to post a custom style since it seemed the most appropriate place to put it without making a new user styles thread. I don't often write CSS or add userstyles for that matter, but I decided to make the style just today after getting an idea the other night to just make something.

Attached is the Cave Theme which uses a sandstone or sandy color as its base theme colors. Other colors can be substituted into the variables in the root element within it if wanted.
In addition to color/theme changes, this theme makes several significant modifications which include the following:

• Gradients are added and overlaid on the original background. This includes a grey taper towards the bottom (which the site themes should all have tbh) and a short, theme colored gradient underneath the top navbar.
  • The background image is made a bit smaller to fit all the panels/images on both sides on a 1080p monitor, now sure if anyone will really care but it's something to note.
• A bit more space is added between the user title and badges/banners.
• T&HF banner is now thematically colored and its text is now in bold.
• Notices (like the Community Happenings one) are slightly modified in how they are displayed.
  • The notices now have rounded corners like all the other page sections/widgets as well as an internal rounded border for style.
  • The Community Happenings notice on the main page, in particular, has its text now centered within the notice. Not like it was needed, but it seems to me to be slightly better that way.
• Highlighted posts have a small glow (to make it easier to find the alphabet agents).
• Fixes to the breadcrumbs (last chevron removed, vertical alignment fixed) are made as seemed to have been done with others.
• The page body, that is the thing behind and containing individual posts, is slightly transparent.

I figured this would be fairly simple while not being having too many radical adjustments.

While I do get that having just color adjustments is easy enough, I would like to see more crafty themes/styles at some point and maybe an update to the base look.
