@Desktop User2 did you think your earlier dumb comment was somehow better than the one I replied to?
We don't not care about a crime just because the crime has been completed. You're prosecuted for violating a human, moreso if you debase that person. If you rape and murder someone, you can and should still be prosecuted for both rape and murder (and/or the former may aggravate the latter). Each is a unique violation of a person. And that person had to experience both. Intent matters, and so does causing suffering prior to death. That's both
legally and morally. If you think skinning someone alive and applying acid as you do for 2 weeks until they die is no different or less "bad" than self defense with a swift bullet, then you have no soul. Making someone's or something's last minutes full of pain and terror is sick and sadistic. Sure, they're dead all the same, but dead people's wishes and experiences are acknowledged and important in all kinds of contexts.
But the bottom line is that intentionally causing extensive pain and suffering in service of one's own jollies does matter to any non-psychopath.
By your "logic," death isn't even bad bc the dead aren't there to feel sad about it. Dumb.
This is an absolutely spiritually and ethically corrupt hook to hang your hat on. Philosophically, mentally, and physically, too.
And there are many - including torture victims - who would welcome the release of death over torture. Death is not always the worst thing.
Back OTish - if Nick thinks bashing a thing to death makes him a badass or makes him look like one, he's a worse human than I imagined.
But mainly I'm wondering how his prep for the mid-July CPS trial is going! Just two more weeks to assemble experts to testify that bc there maybe was some flimflam lab tech in MN 20 years ago [it was actually a crooked M.E., iirc, but details], all of the state's techs are corrupt and conspiring against him and thus the drug results are false, plus the warrant is patently insufficient and clearly just trumped-up bs from Scandinavian prudes with a(n oxymoronic) hard-on for the most famous bitch in Spicer, MN, history. And that those damn raccoons deserved it for eating the smorgasbord he laid out for them.
