It's actually so well written for the common person to understand it that I'm thinking that it's the entire reason it took so long to produce.
Roberts is well known for trying to do this in particular. Thomas is also known for being anti-elitist and requiring his clerks use simple language:
What I tell my law clerks is that we write these so that they are accessible to regular people. That doesn't mean that there's no law in it. But there are simple ways to put important things in language that's accessible. As I say to them, the beauty, the genius is not to write a 5 cent idea in a ten dollar sentence. It's to put a ten dollar idea in a 5 cent sentence.

Our education system and media are operated by people to whose benefit is discouraging Americans from coming to their own conclusions. Then you might not need their "expertise."

They've got to be feeling pretty battered and bruised after the last five days.

Judge Orders Biden Administration to Resume Permits for Gas Exports

President Biden had paused new natural gas export terminals to assess their effects on the climate, economy and national security. A federal judge disagreed.

A federal judge on Monday ordered the Biden administration to resume issuing permits for new liquefied natural gas export facilities after the government had paused that process in January to analyze how those exports affect climate change, the economy and national security.

The decision, from the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, comes in response to a lawsuit from 16 Republican state attorneys general, who argued that the pause amounted to a ban that harmed their states’ economies. Many of those states, including Louisiana, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming, produce significant amounts of natural gas.

The judge, James D. Cain Jr., who was appointed by President Donald J. Trump, wrote in his decision that the states had demonstrated that they had lost jobs, royalties and taxes that would have flowed had permits for gas exports continued.

Texas, for example, projected that it would lose $259.8 million in tax revenues associated with natural gas production over five years as a result of the pause of permitting.

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm has said that she expects that the analysis of L.N.G. exports, which is being conducted by her agency, would be completed late this year.

But Judge Cain agreed with the attorneys general that the states were being harmed.

“The Court finds that the lost or delayed revenues tied to natural gas production is a concrete and imminent injury that supports standing,” Judge Cain wrote.

Elizabeth Murrill, the attorney general of Louisiana, said in a statement: “Liquid natural gas has an enormous and positive impact on Louisiana, supplying clean energy for the entire world, and providing good jobs here at home. The people of Louisiana are proud to power this national and the world. A major victory for American energy.”

Angelo Fernández Hernández, a White House spokesman, said the administration was disappointed by the ruling. “We remain committed to informing our decisions with the best available economic and environmental analysis, underpinned by sound science,” he said in a statement.

The United States is the world’s largest exporter of L.N.G. and, even with the pause, is expected to more than double existing capacity by the end of this decade because of projects that have already been approved. The country has seven active terminals with another five under construction. An additional 17 projects have been seeking permits.

The Biden administration decided in January to halt approvals of new liquid natural gas facilities after climate activists campaigned against Calcasieu Pass 2, a proposed $10 billion project in Louisiana. If completed, Calcasieu Pass 2 would be the largest natural gas export terminal in the country and would increase the country’s daily gas exports by about 20 percent. Last week, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission voted 2 to 1 to approve the project, leaving the export terminal permit as the last remaining hurdle.

The pause also affected five other projects that applied to export gas to countries that do not have free-trade agreements with the United States.

The protests over Calcasieu Pass 2 came as President Biden sought to shore up his support among climate activists, an important constituency. Despite the fact that Mr. Biden signed the most significant climate law in the nation’s history, young climate activists in particular have been disappointed by his administration’s approval of oil drilling like Willow, an enormous drilling project in pristine Alaskan wilderness.

In announcing the pause in January, Mr. Biden framed the decision as rooted in concerns about climate change.

“In every corner of the country and the world, people are suffering the devastating toll of climate change,” Mr. Biden said in a statement at the time. “This pause on new L.N.G. approvals sees the climate crisis for what it is: the existential threat of our time.”

Environmental groups from the Louisiana Gulf Coast, where pollution from L.N.G. facilities has affected the health of residents, want an outright ban on new exports.

The pause in permits galvanized oil and gas companies against Mr. Biden, according to industry lobbyists. Three oil executives hosted a fund-raiser in Houston in May to benefit Mr. Trump, who has promised to restart L.N.G. permits.

The pause was announced a month after the United States joined nearly 200 nations at a United Nations climate summit in promising to transition away from fossil fuels.

A complex fight has emerged over the role of L.N.G. as countries try to move to cleaner energy.

Natural gas, which is primarily composed of methane, is cleaner than coal when it is burned. But methane is a much more potent greenhouse gas in the short term, compared with carbon dioxide. And it can leak anywhere along the supply chain, from the production wellhead to processing plants to the stovetop. The process of liquefying gas so it can be transported is incredibly energy intensive as well, creating yet more emissions.

Biden administration officials did not say on Monday night if they plan to appeal. Any appeal is expected to be heard by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Louisiana, where several judges appointed by Mr. Trump have ruled in favor of plaintiffs challenging Mr. Biden’s environmental policies.

All I'm gonna say is this. Donald, my man, they're gonna kill you anyways. Drone strike the Rothschild's, Bush's, Clintons, Soros clan, total old money family death. Do what Hitler couldn't. Adolf arrested a Rothschild but pussied out. Don't repeat Adolfs mistake. Hellfire up the Rothschild ass. White phosphorus upon these niggas.

The Habsburgs are the only tolerable old money family. Drone strike most of Yurop leadership and replace them with based chinmaxxer Habsburgs.

This would be funny but instead sadly we will get Donald making another trip to kiss the Jew wall and as long as Israel continues to receive stacks of cash he may just be allowed to sit in the big seat again for a few more years.

It's an open secret that Rockefeller and his buddies explicitly designed America's modern education system not to create adapatble, well-informed, well-rounded citizens, but to specialize, pidgeonhole, and put you on the wageslave treadmill as quickly as possible.

Biden sounded like a bitter faggot in his little 5 minute statement about today’s Supreme Court ruling:
Nearly four years ago my predecessor sent a violent mob to the US capital to stop the peaceful transfer of power. We all saw that with our own eyes. We sat there and watched it happen that day: an attack on the police, the ransacking at the capital, a mob literally hunting down the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, gallows erected to hang the Vice President Mike Pence. I think it’s fair to say it is one of the darkest days in the history of America.
The Left is going to be sighing in ecstasy over getting their hysteria validated by a seemingly lucid Joe Biden. Their powerful feelings of anxiety and outrage over Trump, January 6, and the Supreme Court will restore their sense of authority and moral superiority. Once the election becomes about not letting The Incarnation of Evil win it gives them justification to vote for any Democrat, even one that belongs in a memory care ward. Obviously this is a very risky strategy for Biden :story:

People in this thread are in a bubble if they think that a huge majority of Democrats won't just block this out of their minds when Joe Scarborough, John Stewart, or Rachel Maddow tells them to. Have you not read the final lines of 1984? A man's capacity to delude himself is immeasurable, especially when prodded along by his media and academic taskmasters. Polls right now are affected by a confounding variable of embarrassment, just like the polls in the immediate aftermath of the Access Hollywood tapes. Once people get over that, comforted by the repeated braying of the MSM that Biden is still with it, things will balance out.
From what i've seen it has broken the illusion for a lot of people, who are now quietly stepping back and slowly processing things. Just keep a copy of the debate handy and threaten to make them watch it again if they get uppity. Plus if this was bad, there are likely to be more fuckups later

LEARN TO ARCHIVE YOU FAT FUCKING FAGGOT.

Oddly, this link appears to have two different articles:
https://archive.is/ctKsn
https://archive.is/ghMWK <- this is the one you posted.
what - how? they are both the same link! is the NYT changing the article it shows for different people?

Well, I'd say, it was. But that aside, it means that Trump can't be prosecuted for his usage of core (unique) constitutional powers (unless it was done purely in his own self interest), and is presumed to have immunity for any action he took in powers that are not solely his (ones he shares with Congress for example). A core constitutional power would be directing an army, or directing DoJ to investigate Voter Fraud (as the Supreme Court found)

DoJ:

Army:

Purely self interest:
View attachment 6144650
The legal grey area is what exactly classifies something as "Purely for self interest". This grey area is relevant because Trump really is straddling the edge. Going off the decision, challenging the result is classified as official because its within his legal right to (and any attempt to say otherwise is stupidity_, but his "False electors" scheme might well be outside it.

Either way. this actually marks political assassinations -out- from immunity. Since generally recognized, albeit not legally codified, is that the U.S. government is agnostic to who runs it. It does not care who is at the helm. So any action taken to disadvantage any particular candidate or person is de facto done purely for self gain.

Debate effect starting to show up in pollerinoing
And I was right. It doesn't look like Trump really gained. Biden just massively lost and they fled to the third parties. Which is exactly what I predicted post-debate.

Oh this is fascinating. There is a two hour time gap. it looks like they actively took down the first article and put up the second. Could be as simple as a wrong article and they intended the first one (both have similar subject lines) or could be an attempt to bury the first version entirely. Is the first version up under a different URL anywhere?

I hope everyone is archiving all this shit

Cuz if Trump wins in November then we're going to need it to offset all the riots and Not my President shit that will happen. I have a really bad feeling that the left will lose it's mind and the DNC won't be willing or able to reel them in when they go haywire.

All this Jan 6th talk by the DNC drones will come back to bite them in ass when their anti-fag soldiers start shit and burn down Washington.

Rainbow this but I think the Israel/Palestine shit has sucked a lot of the oxygen out of the room that would have been necessary to ignite another movement like that. Sure they could have the paid actors out there and still do, and there are still lots of retards out there on their campus safe spaces or in urban shitholes like Portland. But I've noticed a lot of them just acting resigned on social media, complaining that they won't vote for either candidate because of the Israel issue. If even half of those people follow through and don't vote there goes a large chunk of biden's support and almost none of Trump's. Trump lost a lot of RINOs and white women but he has made gains with blacks and Hispanics, two groups the left likes to use as shields for their movements. I think they'll still try to get something going as a fed op, but I really just don't see a 2020 fentanyl floyd public uprising out of a bunch of whiny fags who feel disenfranchised because both candidates have chosen to support one group of desert people over the one they like. If anything I think we will see a lot of one-off, uncoordinated protests/riots at first because they don't have the same cohesion they had.

I think that is going to be a tough sell with how hard the Jan 6th committee failed at actually turning heads. There is also the fact that deep down most of them know he did not send anyone anywhere and honestly Biden should be really pleased about the immunity since he has been lying his chin balls off at every opportunity in an effort to influence an election and Bragg got some convictions on that...at least for the moment.

@Sithis While it is kind of a silly sample I like to look at my regular bar as a bellwether. People were happy that Trump lost in 2020. Now they are actively talking him up. The most diehard Dems are just sitting there pouting because they know what a disaster Biden is. There are some hardcore old guy dems blue collar to the core who have shifted to Trump.

It is not Gaza or Biden's melting brain. It is the economy. Biden can stumble around from room of ten people to room of ten people and his shills can say the economy is great but people know it is not.

Another key issue is the invasion. People were not feeling it until now but we have hit a point of saturation where you are seeing illegals everywhere all the time in higher populated areas.. Their crimes are so outrageous and frequent that the news cannot ignore them anymore. To really twist the knife the government is giving them money that is now worth a lot less than it was under Trump that they stole from our pockets.

Outside of a handful of retards no one cares about abortion. They care about the fact that they might get stabbed by some illegal while they are trying to figure out how to pay for utilities and food.

Oh as a side note I have to laugh at him bitching about a verdict weeks after saying we have to respect courts. It is a super good look.

Nah, it'll be euphemized and memory-holed as "fiery but mostly peaceful". It'll be rationalized as "it's not violence when we kill random people. And it's good that it is." And the Right will tsk-tsk about "imagine if things were reversed!"

We've seen this movie before. You're talking about the same fiends who responded to a pooner murdering children was to give her a national holiday. Or this eternal howler:

Austere_Religious_Scholar_Al_Baghdadi_Washington_Post (1).JPG
Liberals have no qualms about dehumanizing you. They know that acknowledging your humanity means jeopardizing their perceived right to unlimited power.

In war, you don't respond to your enemy shooting at you by getting huffy at their hypocrisy and bloviating poetic about "imagine if things were reversed!" You fucking return fire.

And it's not even good at that. It's more influenced by Paulo Freire seeing as how your average college graduate teacher is an activist first, not a blue collar slave driver.

What I'm concerned about is that this cannot possibly be the first time this has happened. How often do they push updated articles and redirect old links to the new articles?

That's the consequence of a service economy. When you educate people to go work in factories, you have to educate them to think enough that they don't wreck the huge expensive machines, and you produce much more efficiently than some communist shithole

With services there's a lot more leeway for unproductive behavior. Especially when credit is artificially made very cheap for decades

Biden or the elites that pull the strings just gave Israel the go ahead to attack Lebanon to "counter Hezbollah aid to Hamas"

"US officials say that Israel will attack and secure a buffer zone in Lebanon to prevent aid from flowing to Gaza thru that area"

"At this moment we are urging US citizen to avoid Lebanon for travel and if your a resident to leave as as soon as possible"

More good news, they just deployed a Marine regiment just off shore of Lebanon "in case quick action is necessary"

Is Israel trying to lose sympathy for the rest of the world?
