Nobody's going to let him run up a massive debt he will get fucked up over a very small debt first.

Given hes a VERY KNOWN gambling addict, and felons are predatory, I disagree. A low debt can be dealt with, however nastily, pretty easily. (assuming they don't refuse to let you pay if off but ill get to that)

However, if you give a gambling addict an opportunity to ABSOLUTELY fuck themselves over, I would not be surprised if someone calculates out letting the guy get in debt, and then continued to allow him to gamble JUST to dig himself deeper.

Why?

sure, they could fuck him in minor debts (perhaps literally) but getting him in INESCAPABLE debt, while allowing him to gamble to MAYBE get out, you could have him in a sort of indentured servitude, and he will reinforce this with shitty gambles.

And I know, you might think, why not JUST rape him, or enslave him from 1 bad gamble? Frankly, better optics. Not all prisoners are ok with just jumping and raping a scrawny dude, but "debt" is a bitch to get involved with, and even if someone IS exploiting him through debt, for someone to recognize this, and confront this, and CONTEST this, goes from "hey, leave that guy alone" to "hey, leave that guy alone, and screw your money" which is taken very, very differently. Culturally (in prison), unless the predator is VERY unliked, or weak, they will have more "justification" if hes constantly in debt, than if hes taken for a ride over 1 tiny debt, or just raped. Even if you compare making bogus "charges"(or just refusing to accept payment back) to increase debt arbitrarily, thats seen as less legitimate than if hes constantly sitting, by his own choice, gambling, and fucking up, enslaving himself further. At that point, you can argue "look, hes just a dumbass, he knows hes 300$ in debt with me, and I still take care of his ass, so OF COURSE he does favors for me. But he never stops gambling, its his fault". And most wouldn't want to pick that kinda argument.

This also heavily depends who hes with, but if I was a felon like that, and had him in my cell.... I'd definitely finesse him into debt through black jack or whatever, and try to keep it up, just so he COULDN'T stop doing me favors to pay it back, without violating prison "honor". You combine this with a few other "friends" who play together in a multi way game trying to screw over him, cheating games, or some other BS, and yeah.

BASICALLY, keeping him in a cycle of debt he refuses to leave because hes an addict is easier to maintain in prison culture than just making him someones bitch through force. Path of least resistance, IMO.

I could be wrong, but that all made sense to me.

It appears Austin was taken into custody yesterday, July 2 at 5:20PM Bossman Time, and transferred to the jail at 6:37PM. An hour seems about right to go from the police to the jail.

The county Austin lives in is small and doesnt have its own jail, it might have a lockup down at the Sherrifs office. Three or four smaller adjacent counties in the area made a regional jail for holding people. Austin does not actually live in the same county as Charlottesville VA though he's close.
Court records will likely update around 9am or 10am BossmanTime to show what his arrest was for.

I've been watching his stream(s) lately, he really does not hide any of the fact that he's either calling his weed or crack dealer. Since his public records (phonenumber) was on the internet, any police doing some investigation would have made it very easy for himself trying to figure out who austin was or is calling at certain timestamps.

There's all sorts of speculation on what was going on, my bet is the above (drug related) or perhaps his brother who was in a divorce and came back living in house of Family peterson. Chances are it might have been a fight or something in that matter.

I agree, reality is rarely as interesting as fiction. Also anyone thinking this will trigger his 5 year sentence should stay grounded. I've seen murderers with suspended sentences get arrested for big boy crimes and still get treated with kid gloves.

I wouldn’t rule out a rage out on family his brother letting him drive his car makes a pull over/ drugs seem most likely. However the brother not letting him borrow the car to go get crack could have led to trying to knocking Andrew the fuck out again.

It would appear they let him sit in jail for 28 days the last time and he was scared enough to cooperate with shit to some degree for a few years. Same thing could happen again where the arrest and charges hanging admonish/ scare him enough to try to reign in his shit for awhile until and it ramps back up over time again.
