Friends who I have met who have still not been with a woman admittedly have genuine short comings, mostly with their personality/confidence which cause this issue for them, you are your greatest enemy, you will always be your own obstacle.

There's something to be said about the increasing prevalence of social disabilities and the stigma against men who possess them due to factors beyond their control. Some people legitimately pursue self-improvement but struggle with serious roadblocks that make it difficult for their efforts to truly pay off. Would probably factor in to the broader issue of mental illness in the modern era.
If you are such a person you would do well to recognize that self-improvement does not happen overnight and your efforts will only truly pay off if you commit long-term to overcoming whatever it is that's ultimately holding you back. It's the same advice you'd give to the terminally obese; it may not be easy but it's not remotely impossible and you're only kneecapping yourself if you opt for excuses over effort.

But yeah, I'm old, and I'm a virgin, and while it doesn't bother me much anymore, it's really bad praxis to call people virgins as an insult or to make fun of them for being virgins.
