Why'd he start a "totally ironic" pride stream then whine and bitch incessantly about playing ghey games to the point of returning to 6 hours of his DBZ slop he doesn't even like 😐

Also "time for you to get a watch" is a boomer-ism but "wowie zowie" as a catchphrase somehow isn't?
He has evolved past DSP-isms and is now on his WingsOfRedemption grind; playing games that he seemingly only hates.
 
Did Synth even play the DLC for other souls games? The DaS2 DLCs were particularly atrocious with the bosses. I still have nightmares over the 3 man gank squad.
If anything usually 2's DLC is considered a lot better than the base game in every aspect. 3 was where the devs dropped the ball and really leaned hard with the bosses being more cinematic than fun. And even then nothing in that is close to the shittiness of the DLC bosses.

I don't know. I guess my expectations were just lower than most people's since I play From's games usually after the major DLC releases. I've always thought their DLCs were just pretty good, not amazing, and certainly not THEIR BEST CONTENT FOR EACH GAME WOWIE ZOWIE! Like redditors always claim.

The Old Hunters bosses were hard but still with somewhat fair bosses. The issues with ER DLC are like From ignored every criticism of the base game.
1. Empty environments you could run through to the point it might as well be a boss rush.
2. Fighting literal whos bosses you need to piece the lore to know through.
3. Might as well require a guide because you aren't going to do the quests/item hunt unless you have dozens of hours to kill every random enemy and explore every nook and cranny.
4. Every boss will have overly long combos you can do shit while in it, and they also have super armor at all time. Also jank hit detection and bad camera.

Except now add that bosses don't have stamina and will barely allow you to get one hit in, and that's in the rare case their combo ends in them in place and not 10 meters from where they started.

He makes some fair points. The obsession with "difficulty" over uniqueness and fun is starting to lead the Soulsbornekiroringtree series into sludge territory.
His take on the direction the series went in reminded me of that one Matthewmatosis video. Fromsoft is a little too confident in the spectacles they make and not confident enough in their ability to facilitate mechanical intrigue beyond learning enemy move sets to minimize damage. The difference between a boss like Old Hero and a boss like Malenia is a testament to how much things have changed.
 
I really like Synth, he may be my current favorite gaming youtuber. All the other gaming youtubers that I could call favorite are semi-retired, on hiatus or fucking dead.
Even though I prefer scripted videos over Synth's rambling videos, the scripted ones usually take months to make, while Synth can shit out a video in a couple of weeks, while also streaming regularly. He has the perfect mix of quality and quantity.

Considering how much /v/ loves that video, and that Synth browses /v/ , I wouldn't be surprised if he took some inspiration from it to make this video.

This is the result of the brainrot campaign Japan has been subjected to for decades now. You can see it in their anime and films. It used to be about cool, manly guys doing cool shit like kicking ass and saving babes, but slowly and surely it morphed into faggy twinks being emotional faggots doing lame shit.
Combing that with a degenerate like George Martin could only ever end in some faggot incest story.
It seems like the era where you could somewhat escape the Goblin culture rot infesting Western games by playing games from Japan is coming to an end.

I wrote it in the ER thread and it just seems like FromSoft is becoming another Bethesda with losing the factors that made their games good and just making average AAA games which are constantly defended by fans.

With ER it really makes me despise games that expect you to look online for builds and item locations. I'd rather have quest markers and quest journal.

Yup that’s pretty much how I feel. If it weren’t for the mimic tear I would’ve never played through this game. Demons souls I imported back then before western release and now it’s a clusterfuck of special move after special move.
 
I think the souls series lost the plot somewhere when it tries too hard to be hard, For the sake of being hard. to the point it starts being annoying, unfair and most of all, not fun to play. it started huffing its on farts and let itself become one with the "you will die" meme. they really need to balance the AI and limit how much retarded shit it can pull from its ass. Maybe give them their own stamina bar and a stagger meter like in Sekiro.

The fact people look up builds before they even start to play the game indicate its failure.

Genuine question, would anyone here prefer they stick with what they're doing now or just bite the bullet and make a proper Devil May Cry/Bayonetta style action game? I personally don't see them going back to a pre-Elden Ring design style since it made them so much more money than the older Souls games did.
What I want is for them to fucking commit to the design instead of this "middle ground" of making you fight Revengence bosses with the same 2011 dodge roll. Sekiro is proof that FromSoft can make solid action if they actually follow through with it; seriously, how is it that the game with a parry system has reasonable boss encounters?
