Boys I'm ngl, this post-debate Dem meltdown is rapidly approaching the pure uncut schadenfreude of the 2016 aftermath when Trump sent Killary to the glue factory.

Watching Biden call himself a black woman on his "I'll show them how sharp I am" comeback tour, then The Economist absolutely puts him in a bodybag with their cover story... hot damn, this is weapons grade lulz.

It's really just so catastrophically stupid. If they had a real primary either Biden would have gotten his shit together and been sharp for when he had to face Trump or people could have realized in a much more graceful manner that they needed to replace him when it was the right time to. They may have smothered their party's chances by overprotecting their party's candidate, typical nanny state thinking.

That would never have happened. That's exactly why there wasn't a real primary.
They may have killed their party's chances by overprotecting their party's candidate, typical nanny state thinking.
Thing is, Democrats are between a rock and a hard place here. If they'd had an actual primary and allowed Biden to be unseated as an incumbent, they would have looked weak, Biden's administration would look weak, and Trump, more so than he is now, would almost certainly be on the path to returning to the White House

Really what they shouldn't have done is fuck with 2020. If they hadn't pulled strings to get Biden in as the nominee in 2020 when nobody actually wanted him, they would be in a much stronger position either way

It honestly boggles my mind a bit that either of the 4 head honchos in the party (Obama, Bill Clinton, Schumer, Pelosi) thought whatever nakedly political prosecutions against Trump would stave this off instead of forcing Biden to take the LBJ route and let 2024 be an open contest among multiple candidates.
Like, I get that it backfired a bit with Humphrey, but we aren't in Vietnam right now. They never needed to run Harris as their only option, if Biden announced he was done after 1 term it'd be open season.

2016 is the issue. If he had run then as the third Obama term his brain wouldn't have been past the best-by date when he had to run again. Oh well, not his turn. Once they elected him in 2020, then the only option was to STAND BY THEIR MAN. I only say that they should have allowed a real primary in hindsight because they decided to be disloyal fucks and run out on him now that it's too late anyway! They've generated the bad consequences of tossing their incumbent without the part where they can replace him with anyone else and win! It's too fucking late. How do they not understand this?
forcing Biden to take the LBJ route and let 2024 be an open contest among multiple candidates.
In retrospect, this is absolutely the best path they could have taken. But I think they were still looking at the polls and seeing Biden as the strongest candidate.

10 to 1 It is Hillary Yelling at him in DM's to not let Kamila reach the President by Techncality Twice which first time was Temporary .

Well, here's the thing.... Who would run? It would have to be someone approved by Obama or Clinton or ideally both. They won't let an actual open primary happen, the wrong sort of leftist might get in. They want another puppet that will serve their Boomer masters, not a Tulsi or AOC.

No, they destroyed their upcoming crops of new talent, while at the same time they utterly refuse to give up even an inch of power they have clawed onto over the past 50 years. This ends when the fucking boomers like Schumer / Pelosi / McConnel / etc die and they're finally, FINALLY, forced to let go of the reigns of power, and not a second sooner.

God only knows what happens to our country when that happens, it'll be glorious.

The other problem with an open primary is someone like Bernie Sanders or some other variety of upstart might win instead of a DNC stuffed suit. They would rather lose with Biden, Harris, Bootyjudge, or Newsome than run someone who isn't a party pod person, even if the upstart polls better for the general as Sanders often did.

The only thing they can really do now to win the election is fortify again.
The Dems will take the easy route and keep on tearing themselves apart.

Truly those who want to watch America's politics crash and burn are eating well.

He was declining even in 2016. But nobody was really paying attention to him so it wasn't really noticed
Also 2016 was in the immediate aftermath of Biden's only non-fuckup child dying and he wasn't in any state to campaign.

I hate to break it to you but Sanders is just as much of a party pod person as the rest of them, and he thoroughly turned off the non-commie part of his voter base with his campaign's antics in 2020.
I do agree that their real concern is some mixed-bag moderate non-neolib like Gabbard getting attention over a creation of the party elders like Buttigieg.

The ruling party has always been punished for dropping the incumbent. Happened in 52' with Truman, happened in '68 with LBJ, happened with James K Polk, happened with James Buchanan. Only times it didn't happen were Coolidge and Rutherford B Hayes

How long are we thinking before Biden makes the ultimate mistake and says the forbidden gamer word on national television?
Honestly, it's what I've been waiting for his entire demented presidency. He's called a bunch of black men "boys", but that doesn't even move the needle.

Hard R preferred. Don't let me down, LulzGod.
