I dunno, I'd rather have a nurse for that kind of thing if I could afford it. Nurses are held to higher standards of care and, worse comes to worse, you can always fire them if they suck and not have to see them again at holidays.

I guess it really depends on the individual. I absolutely loathe loved ones seeing me when I'm ill or in pain. I'm glad for the company but I hate making them worried or upset.

I think the happy medium for a lot of people would be professional staff to look after medical and surface needs, with regular but limited guest visits.
