Breach data gets published every day. Many people collect these, dump them into a folder, and the just search key entries with something fast like ripgrep

There is one specific file that is very helpful called COMB (compilation of many breaches) which is a good starting point. Many times just having a password hash can ID a user and link them to a real person. However, the Chads that found this used COMB plus others like the Twitter leak of 227m accounts and more.

last i remember some russian group tried running a splinter with baphomet (who ran the site with pompompurin) but then baphomet got spooked and some keys were stolen? then there was a possibly fake, FBI seizure image on the homepage and the DNS servers pointed to the FBI nameservers....but they got the domain back somehow? it's a very odd one and it doesn't really make sense.

the two admins prior to that are Diogo Santos Coelho (omniscient?) who somehow only made 140k running the site over a few years - he got vanned when he travelled to the UK and hilariously, scammed an FBI agent out of 5k.
the second is Conor Fitzpatrick (pompompurin) from new york who ran the replacement breachforums which quickly got raided and was found to conveniently have a bunch of CSAM - he pled guily and will be gone for a few years too.
