I think the long weekend is the chance to assess. He had a shitty performance over a week ago. Did a couple speeches. An interview. Said he wasn't quitting. His team spun as best they could. He could buy time with the holiday to figure shit out, but tomorrow the DNC has to sit him down and tell him he's not viable.

Basically if he doesn't drop out tomorrow he isn't dropping out willingly. Then the DNC has to decide if they forcibly and humiliatingly deny him the nomination at the convention, which with Super Delegates should be easy.

I'm sure there is some negotiation with the states that already had ballot deadlines to make an exception and they should. As much as I'd like to see the self-own of the Democratic Nominee not be on several state ballots, the very idea that any state would require the ballots to be formalized months or weeks before the convention is dumb, unless the conventions are being held absurdly late. It makes the conventions a useless rubber stamp.

The dems are holding their convention late in middle of august.

I never thought I'd be reading such a good take coming from you (although Biden isn't actually president, he's a demented potato who assumed office after a fraudulent election). The saddest part is that it's true. Absolutely nothing got done in fixing the problems between 2020 and 2024. Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania elections in 2022 were rigged to all hell, they smacked down every attempt at solving it and many states have worked to expand mail in voting, ballot harvesting, and other methods of fraud. The media conspiracy machine is in full motion convincing Americans this is the last election if they don't vote (D), and plenty of people believe it like your suburban "moderates". And can't forget the millions of illegals in this country who weren't here in 2020!
