The Hololive Dodgers thing has me fucked up a bit because I legit thought the reaction would be boomers whining about a cartoon child in their red meat american pastime, but instead it's somehow "they didn't make enough merch" instead. The actual fuck? I guess Gura is never going to graduate because Cover will parade around her corpse if they have to given her absurd popularity. It sucks, because I liked Senzawa and I feel like this popularity has basically killed her desire to stream because there will always be a permanent disconnect between her and chat due to there being so many motherfuckers that she can't realistically read anything. It's like the opposite of a 2view problem.

From what I've read on the sister site, it's connected to this bit about NicoNicoDouga (Japanese video site similar to youtube but slightly older and filled with all things japanese stuff) finding itself crippled by pretty nasty ransomware/cyberattacks targeting the site and also some websites under its parent company, Kadokawa, last month.

Around recently, a group of russian hackers that (somehow) wasn't stuck in the trench of Ukraine's frontlines called "BlackSuit" has claimed responsibility for the attacks and demanded ransom or else they start leaking stuff around. So far Kadokawa hasn't say anything and they started leaking things in response, which might explain why people on 4chins were talking about leaks or whatever.

That said, according to another person on the sister site, the one involving Suisei's face above was unrelated to the NND leaks and more of a work by a schizo doing insane digging in order to find her irl pictures/dox and posted the evidences as compilations of materials/data in a telegram channel, including the video which has said photo you posted. It likely went and appeared on 4chan and become latest discussion, while at the same time people were getting details about the NND leaks and ended up kind of overlap (especially since plenty of JP vtubers made their start in NND, which lead to some credence that the leaks might contain stuff like these vtubers irl stuff from years ago)

It feels like a bit of coincidence, tbh.

Kirsche was directly cited on Lotus Eaters (Sargon's podcast) for her work on exposing "Bridge" (essentially a rebrand of DEI), basically gave her massive props and pointed out she's one of the best right now for covering this and bringing it to the forefront.

I'm surprised that this isn't more of a shitstorm yet. Luckily for her, I think she's small enough to duck under the radar for a bit if she needs to, and she's cultivated a community that isn't going to crucify her over this.

I don’t think it’s so much killed the desire to stream because there are too many people. Seems to be more it’s killed the desire to stream because she’s having to do too many corpo things and that is just taxing her too much.

So she’d much rather read a book assuming there isn’t a sponsered stream, collab or the very rare game she wants to play and is actually allowed to.
