Because the vast majority of these campus liberals/sjws became voting age during Obama's election in 2008. They were too young to remember living under a Republican president so they literally think that Obama style progressiveness is all that exists and has ever existed. Pretty much everything up until now has been by the "I just lost an election" playbook. They paint the new guy as Darth Vader, make comparisons to Hitler. List how clueless he is, how he doesn't seem to know anything about the job, how every statement he makes is a sign that WE'RE ALL DOOOOOMED. People claim they won't recognize him as president (spoiler: that trick was old when they used it on FDR).

The Trump haters might have some legitimate complaints, but they're wrong if they think ANY of this is new or even out of the ordinary. It'll get some play over the next few weeks, mostly because December is a historically slow news month, but after the inauguration, will quietly fade away.
