Shohei Ohtani now has 10 straight games with an RBI, which breaks a record that has stood for 100 years.

The all time record is 17 straight RBI games and I don't think that he can get there, but who knows ?

What makes it especially impressive is that he's doing this as a lead-off hitter and that the bottom of the batting order for the Dodgers has been some straight up turd sandwich tier horrible.

So he basically has to hit homers most of the time...which he's been doing, so more power to him.

I really hope that he doesn't enter the Home Run Derby. That shit seems to really fuck with batters' swings and production post-All Star Break.

-he "regularly slept in her bed" during ST in Florida for subsequent years when she was between 12-15



Presumably these allegations start somewhere between 1995 & 2002 when Monroe was in the Texas system.

She alleges
- forced her to perform handjobs & oral sex on him as a minor
- complains Monroe's junk was huge for her small mouth
- eventually began formally fucking her
- started flying her across the country for sex parties with himself, his friends & teammates when he made the majors
- claims she moved in with him in Detroit in 2011 to continue their relationship
- he would compensate with shopping trips for her acts
- she specifically names former Tigers pitcher Joel Zumaya as participating, formerly infamous for going on the Disabled List with a Guitar Hero injury
- started prostituting her out, giving her 1k to service a "gross White guy in a wheelchair" at a Tigers Fantasy camp
- fucked her after he was married in his cinema room in Frisco with his wife in the house
- no mention of ever informing the police AFAICT
- had all these revelations during ongoing therapy

The allegations broke publicly this morning. His accuser claims to have informed both the Tigers & Fox Detroit/Bally Sports but claims they "did nothing".

Reading the wall of text again, she claims started molesting her at 12 but didn't put p in v until 15.

The story is fucked up if true.

Red flags
- tats on Instagram bio
- doesn't give specific years - gives her age between 12-15, says he was on the Rangers (likely 96-01, drafted June 95, waived Feb 02, would've only been in Florida for ST 96-01)
- no clear indication of current age. 96-01 was forever ago. 12 in 96 would put her around 40, 12 in 01 around 35.
- no mention of police reports, only Instagram allegations on blast and trying to get the man fired by going directly to the team/TV network
- obviously getting molested as child can mess you up. But she reports going to live with him as an adult in 2011 10-15 years after the molestation happened to continue the sexual acts
- she accepted money and gifts while performing sexual acts well into adulthood
- mentions therapy helping her to find her truth decades later

The child/teen sexual assault stuff is unconscionable.

But the story gets sullied by her lumping together seemingly decades of continued association with him willingly as an adult with fuzzy timelines.

In follow-up of the Craig Monroe Detroit broadcaster Instagram allegations

Police in Florida confirm they've opened an investigation

WDIV reached out to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, which confirmed that there is an active investigation into Monroe.

"I can confirm that we have an ongoing investigation involving Craig Monroe,” a spokesperson said. “The only statement I can make at this time is that, ‘This is an active investigation and anyone with information is asked to come forward.’”

The team the network confirm he's off work due to allegations

The Tigers and Bally Sports Detroit sent a joint statement on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, confirming that Monroe’s absence is linked to accusations made against him on social media.

“Bally Sports Detroit and the Tigers are aware of the social media allegations and take them seriously,” the statement said. “As previously stated, Mr. Monroe has not been on the broadcast schedule and that will continue on an indefinite basis. We will have no further comment and any questions should be directed to Mr. Monroe.”

In correction from my previous post, the Rangers currently play Spring Training in Arizona, not Florida (and presumably also did back in the late 90s).

The alleged 12 y/o victim that Monroe was likely boarding at her family home was from Port Charlotte. Placing the beginning of the molestation accusations between 96 and 98.

She said Monroe was playing for the Port Charlotte Rangers at the time. Monroe played 92 games in Port Charlotte in 1997, a full season in 1998, and 130 games in 1999.

This is Madison Shipman. She's been part-time studio analyst for the last year replacing a former MLB player.

She's 31-32, played NCAA softball at the Tennessee. Still lives in Knoxville. Has two young children. Has been doing softball on ESPN since 2018.

She doesn't do play-by-play. Mostly does quick studio hits pre&postgame and during commercial breaks.

There's nothing particularly wrong with her personally. I'm mostly annoyed that it's quite obvious that the Rogers corp that owns both the team & the network said "this old white guy broadcast needs more diversity". She has zero connections with the team and is imported from the US. She also sounds very manly and tries to girl boss it hard.

The Jays' other in-studio analysts are both former players: Joe Siddall and Caleb Joseph. Siddall played briefly as backup catcher for the Expos in the 90s and is from Windsor, ON. Caleb Joseph was a long-time Oriole but finished his career playing for the Jays during the pandemic year. Joseph seems to have been hired because he's affable.



This is Emily Agard. She seems new to the broadcast this year.

She also seems like an ethnically ambiguous diversity hire that some dumb executive thinks will court the Zoomer audience.

Her main function seems to be to do cringy stadium hits during innings to showcase new areas that the team installed last season with their major renovations.

They don't actually seem to let her near the players.



This is Hazel Mae. She's the Jays longtime field reporter.

She's a million years old. She was originally a sportsdesk anchor when the competing Rogers cable TV sports network launched decades ago.

The guy in the picture is Kevin Barker, who she is fucking. He's an old Jays farmhand from decades ago that didn't make it out of AAA. He co-hosts the Jays radio call-in because he's fucking Hazel Mae.

Mae left to cover the Red Sox for NESN a longtime ago, then came back.

I don't really have much against Mae, though I don't find she adds much. I respect her for looking great and surviving in a young woman's world despite being old as fuck.

In today's Clown World, this Filipino grandma has between inning ads showcasing her selling Voltaren for her aching joints.

Yeah the clubhouse reporter being female has become common. I think Suzyn Waldman started it and they replaced her with younger women twice so far. I had a morbid fascination with the Yankees radio broadcasts with John Sterling and Suzyn but sadly John retired this year kind of abruptly. Sterling was often so bad that having an old bag with a heavy Boston accent go on about nonsense wasn't the worst thing. Usually bad sportscasting is just bad but they were something special, so bad it was funny.
