I think as women we can all relate to having the occasional book boyfriend or fantasy lover from a film or television series. However, in my view video games are an underrated medium for handsome, lovable males that appeal to the fairer sex.

Protagonists from Rockstar games tend to do it for me; John Marston will always be one of my favourite video game protagonists ever, and the first Red Dead Redemption holds a special place in my heart. Rugged, taciturn and courageous to a fault, John was a true cowboy till the end and never stopped fighting for his family. I hate how the second game turned him into a beta.

I also enjoy Arthur from the second game, though not as much. Arthur is certainly more complex mentally, but whereas John's honour and decency in the first game came naturally Arthur had to struggle to be a decent person. Still, he is handsome and his chivalry appeals to me.

GTA 4 was one of my first childhood video games and still holds up to this day, and Niko is a huge part of that. I'm weak for a tortured war criminal.

My last offering is an underrated one I feel; LA Noire's Jack Kelso. We only got a few missions with him yet he was far more charismatic than the other hero, Cole Phelps. He was a pure alpha male across the board and wish we had a sequel with him in it.

I don't have a set "type", save for that I'm usually a sucker for the bad guys.

Emet-Selch from Final Fantasy XIV comes to mind, a scheming, shitty ancient man. He was snarky til the very end and I doubt any villains going forward will ever hit quite the same.

And big agree with that comment about Astarion from BG3 not being listed; Gale is by far the superior choice. Though I might be biased since he reminds me a lot of my actual husband, personality-wise.

Never played any RDR games but always thought Arthur was good-looking. Solid taste, OP.
