there's also some pants-shitting about some retarded "putin's coming for europe next!11", and with the way the US is going (with or without trump) there aren't really that many options than spending more money themselves.

That was a Hilary Clinton remark if I recall but Biden did talk about taking "predators off of the street" back in the 1990s.


This was said a year before Biden sponsored the somewhat notorious 1994 Crime Bill (Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994):

People vastly overrated the impact of the 'registered machine gun owner lobby'. Most of them are hobbiests and represent an extreme minority of gun owners. They're not a relevant special interest group and wouldn't make a difference even if they wanted to cause a stink.

If Republicans did this it would be driven by the concerned mom and law enforcement interest groups. Jimmy with his $6000 registered Mac-11 won't be the deciding factor.

Reminder felons are functionally exempt from the NFA(Haynes v. United States). Most of the hoodrat gangbangers are or quickly become felons.
