Makes sense actually. The SS Snipers are trained to react, so the moment they spotted some movement in a rooftoop with a line of sight on Trump they turned to aim at it as per anti-sniper training.

The Don throwing a fist pump after just surviving an assassination attempt is fucking wild. The picture of him emerging in physical victory without cowering under the secret service with the American flag behind him is AMAZING. I wasn't sold on this guy before but I am now. Holy fuck. This is something you tell your children about.

People can split hairs over how good or bad Trump is all they want. The reality is tonight the man had no idea if he was going to die, just that he was bleeding from the head following gunshots, and he was prepared to make his (potentially) literal last gesture on Earth encouragement for his voter base to keep fighting. I don't believe a lot of politicians would have done that. I think Trump has earned a little credit.

That picture is a piece of American history. It dwarfs the mugshot from last year, too.

So, in the chance Trump was wearing one he's wasted his shot, headshot is obviously way harder, but it forced the shooter into a corner. Also depends on the gun and bullets the shooter was using.
