I disagree. I think assassinating the most popular president in a good long while for middle America would have had disastrous consequences, in no small part because you can't completely disenfranchise half a nation, present only the option of pedophilia, sexual perversion, and demographic replacement, then kill their most beloved political representation and expect it to be another bout of typical saltiness for a while.
If Trump were assassinated there's no way there would not have been retaliatory political killings (and foreign governments probably would have stepped in to make them happen.)
