If Trump attends the funeral for the poor guy that died, I think he may completely overturn my disappointment in him leaving the Jan 6ers out to dry.
I get the impression that he'll be stupid enough not to do that. He'll probably send the victim's family a thank you note for handing him the election. At his next speech, dedicating a section to the victim would be smart AND going to his funeral. Will he do it? Hmm, we'll see.

Has there ever been a US presidential candidate that survived their assassination attempt and lost the election?
The thought just occurred to me. I tried looking it up but at a glance I could only find presidents not presidential candidates.

On the subject of the matter: I think he just won the election. They might pull some gay shit still, but come on. I will mention this. It was always said in '16, in '20 and now in '24 that if they couldn't get smear him away, they'd kill him. Biden as pathetic as he is right now, the trial being a dud on Trump's reputation, and the debate - all of this seems to have forced them to take a shot and they missed.

Would Gerald Ford count? Two assassination attempts in '75, lost the '76 election to Carter.

Yeah, that would be one. Though I don't know about attempts during the election cycle. I just can't think of one at the moment but I'm sure there's someone.

Is there any info on the weapon used? I've heard people saying it would either have to be 9mm subsonic or 22lr. based on the noise level and the damage done but I haven't seen any updates on the firearm.

He’d be stupid not to. This situation is handing him votes on a gaudy gold platter, and all he has to do is not nothing. If he were really smart, he’d cover funeral costs and security for the funeral, while “downplaying” his involvement and attendance; doing so would create so much more valuable report than the money alone could achieve.

Those people are retarded. The audio sources we've heard so far are perfectly consistent with centerfire rifle shots, from ~100-200 yards, as captured by phone mics or dynamic, directional mics

Why is every picture of the shooter a rear profile shot? It's like Stephen Paddock all over again.
