If there was truly nothing to fear, I'd have done no harm, and I got an opportunity to praise Christ and acknowledge him as the one true God. Heck, a totally fake delusion can sometimes cause more damage than a "real" thing, so asking for God's protection from something that doesn't exist can probably be a pretty good idea to. If all that happens is he brings you comfort and clarity in a time of fear and confusion, that is protecting you.

A public prayer performed on the Kiwi Farms is not a spontaneous and genuine expression of spiritual fear. It came across as an over-the-top parody, which is exactly how you meant it. It's making a punchline out of the concept of God's protection, suggesting that the Christian faith is a big game of play-pretend. I don't think anyone reading that post believed you were experiencing genuine spiritual terror and therefore typed out an earnest prayer.
