Oswald was a known commie sympathizer and acted independently you are retarded if you believe otherwise
The inquest into the assassination was rushed and extremely flawed and glazed over the fact that both oswald and the guy who shot him had direct connections to the mob and beyond that in Sicily the mobsters used to occasionally use insane people for high risk/profile hits to keep their hands clean and one of the mob bosses later on lamented that "we should have killed Rob, not John" as an old man. You'd know that if you studied actual US history instead of the bullshit the government feeds you.

The mob managed to kill the president so they all lied about it and buried it to get rid of the questions and save face on the world stage, that's the simple truth of the matter. Lyndon B Johnson even had the FBI rush things because he didn't want questions about the assassination being thrown at him during his campaign. There's a podcast that covers the history of the mob including the assassination that goes into it in depth, it's just called "Mafia". They have authors, mob historians, mobsters and retired detectives who were there trying to arrest them on the show explaining the mobsters and their crimes, it's actually really interesting stuff.

Even in situations such as this I'd imagine it's a no-no to give supporters money. It would be seen as bribing. There are probably laws about it.
I thought it was a really stupid thing to not just pay them at first, but now that you mention this, it completely makes sense.

Trump needs his own Praetorian Guard at this point. PMC like Blackwater. Secret Service is fucking useless and contaminated with diversity hires.
Reminds me of that one Athenian tyrant who rode his chariot into Athens market place covered in bruises and his horses covered in cuts saying he barely escaped an assassination attempt and needed the best fighters in Athens to be his personal guards. Who later became Tyrant. Also mercs as guards can end badly, they're mercs after all and work for the highest bidder

I'm sure that makes for an interesting story

What do you think could have possibly been going through Thomas Crooks' mind when he missed that initial shot on Trump, panicked, and then turned his gun 20 yards in the other direction and started magdumping the only black guy sitting down at the rally? Like seriously what the fuck. It's so fucking morbid and everyone glosses over this.
Yeah that has me scratching my head, you'd think he would at least try spamming his original target trying to get lucky???

It bears mentioning that if you miss your (paper) target the first time and the wind starts blowing it all around, the best thing to do is NOT THIS.

What you should do instead is safe your rifle, stow it, then go for a nice brisk jog to somewhere else within 60 seconds because by that time some very upset people will start arriving to have a stern chat with whoever missed.

I unironically hope that the dems immediately start disavowing it, and saying how awful it is. Because you really cannot walk back supporting the idea of someone taking shots at the presidential candidate, no matter how little your support is.
I checked Twitter for the first time in years about 10 minutes after the news came out, just to see that half of the posts were mad that the shooter missed. 10 minutes, and these people went online to publicly post about how they wish a major political figure died from their assassination attempt. We are unironically reaching civil-war levels of political divide here.

I just woke up to this news and Damn, that image of him holding his Fist in the air is fucking iconic - and this is the sort of shit that can win an election, just on the power of the myth alone.

Also to the people saying this was a GlowOp - I really doubt it Trump is the kinda guy you don't take out like this it leads to Political martyrdom (or religious) and they well know this and really don't want that happening with someone like Trump, it's easier to deal with him via other routes than this, It's likely someone who was a former supporter or someone on the other side of the political spectrum driven into a frenzy and had the means an motive to give it a try (an the closest try in years).

I'm not an American and I don't like Trump for my own reasons but a good 95% of that is because I dislike ALL politicians, but left or right, independent nobody and I mean nobody should be shot at / killed over this shit, and I can see a lot of internal discussions in political think tanks and news agencies about how they might have caused this by whipping up both sides into a frenzy and wondering if to make it worse or calm down a bit.
