It could be possible to stage something like this if Trump's injury were not actually inflicted by a bullet, but if they placed a tiny remote-controlled gunpowder charge (basically a party popper) under a bandage on his ear made to blend in with his skin using makeup. The charge could remotely be triggered to look like he got grazed. I'm not remotely suggesting that this is the case, but such a thing could possibly be set up with the shooter intentionally firing wide so the actual bullet goes nowhere near Trump. What would be harder is orchestrating all this when there are so many hostile operatives trying to dig up any possible piece of dirt on Trump. Someone would blab about it.

If that's the case methods would've been taken to prevent any bystanders from getting hurt, and that hydraulic machinery that got shot would've been moved so it couldn't accidently crush anyone when the hydraulics holding it up failed. Plus any close up pictures of his ear would show the bandage or burn marks, and people nearby would've seen the gunpowder charge light up when it went off

Its what the authorities have announced. The head of the body was obliterated by the gunshot he took making facing recognition afterward in theory impossible. They claim he was carrying no ID whatsoever with him.
They have claimed that he was positively identified by a DNA test overnight of some sort. How they knew whose DNA to compare his to or how they made a DNA test match is undisclosed.
