Based on Trump saying it’s someone who isn’t getting attention it’s Youngkin or Carson. Youngkin might be a recent thought because Virginia is now in play.

Vance being skeptical of Trump in ‘16 is fine, I was too until the debates with Hitlary, I saw him more as a guy to voice frustration with the GOP puttting gay amnesty fags like Jeb! at the top without listening to the base.

The Israelis killed Trump angle is beyond retarded. What's even the motivation here for them? Trump is arguably a better president for their overall goals. It just speaks to the inherent paranoia about Jews that exists in the far right. And I'm certainly no fan of the Jews or Israel.

carson would be an excellent choice if he's going for a different set of conservatives (just thinking on the playbook outside of his recent tussle with death) and he's a well-liked guy by a lot of people. surviving opps got him the gangsta vote, even if just a little, so why not pound home that conservative black vote? even my mom knows who ben carson is too, she watched that movie about him i think about the twins and made me give her a rundown on who he was.

Not really? It was a weird case since Biden basically had his people revoke Trump's clearance to have access to the documents so you had arguments about what all Trump had that even constituted some security issue, causing a back and forth between Trump's people and the archivists. They sorta argued stuff including a picture of Trump with Macron were high security documents that Trump mustn't have access to (???) and took some photos with some cover sheets they brought to imply that a bunch of stuff was top secret info.

They were ignoring that former presidents routinely would have documents on hand from their time in office, but this was because they had decided to change the rules special just for Trump. This led to a lot of libs to imagine Trump had done something specially inappropriate, when really this was something presidents would normally be allowed to do because you'd otherwise be fucking them over with weird procedural cases like this. Regardless, they had decided to act like time was of the essence to get some random bullshit documents and raided Mara A Lago over it.

With Jack Smith, he had been randomly appointed by Merrick Garland to be a special counsel to investigate bullshit. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think what made this special is that not only was he doing the investigating, but also the prosecuting. So it would've been fine had he not decided to be so thoroughly involved in the prosecuting. But he was enough of a showboater and Garland didn't give a shit about the law, so he stuck on and was trying to lead this case against Trump rather than hand it off to someone else.

Clarence Thomas had written about this subject not that long ago in the ruling on presidential immunity which some suspect inspired Cannon's ruling.

So in other words, there kinda was something they could go after Trump for here, but they went about it in a really fucking sloppy and dishonest way that was pretty indefensible. Which made it easier for people to question why a private citizen was being allowed to act as a prosecutor and even if the case somehow continued forward, there'd be arguments about how appropriate it was to act like Trump had even mishandled anything.

Kind of a fucked up situation all around.
