No, the Xbox 360 controller is perfect, and that's why it's the gold standard you're comparing modern Nintendo slop to in order to try to make it sound any good. The nintendium mines ran dry after the Game Cube (after the industry wide Golden Era); all of their hardware since has been nosediving into what is now the flimsiest trash in gaming. I've played exactly two games (one turn based that I use the D-pad for exclusively, the other one a farming sim) on a brand new Switch Lite that had dead pixels out of the box, completing neither, and the joycon is already shot. You know they fucked up when they make shit like Rock Candy controllers for the PS2 seem like solid stainless steel and are on par with chinky trash from Ali Express.

Perhaps he can qualify for one of those "go green" tax breaks, as well as charitable tax deductions if he decides to recycle the leftovers via bringing back St Anthony's pigs. St Anthony's pigs were the medieval practice of letting pigs roam city streets with bells around their necks. Feeding these pigs your food scraps was an act of charity that went towards fattening the pigs with the purpose of feeding the poor. And so you see, frens, this is the Christian path forward.
