That is, he was not trying to get elected, but to bring up issues--immigration, foregin trade deals, etc. But then his candidacy caught on and he began thinking seriously of winning the presidency. The woman he hired to run his campaigin in its "educational" days told him that if he was realy running for president, he had better make appointments with potential donors, community leaders etc. and that he would have to keep on a strict schedule. Trump wouldn't do this. All the wanted to do was to make speeches stirring up big crowds. The woman who was his campaign manager finally quit in exasperation..Now he has made it without making the steps that should be made not just to run for president, but to build his future presidency. I think it is dawning on him what a vast responsibity he has taken on after a whole campaign of behaving irresponsibly.
