Every six months or so, he says something so retarded and offensive to his base that a bunch of people declare that his political career is over, although it never takes. He doesn't seem to have principles but he can't read a room, either. He's an automaton whose only useful function is to keep Beto out of the senate.

With Cruz... you lose!
If he keeps the Democrats from getting a Senate seat, I'm willing to tolerate him.

Ted got my ire when he referred to Jan. 6 as an "insurrection", and "terrorism". Then Tucker called him on his bullshit. There's something smarmy and smug about Ted that I don't like, but I do at least appreciate the fact that he turns his attention on the horrible nominees to the bench that the Dems have been putting forth.

I haven't trusted that mofo since the 2016 Primaries, when he lied to Republican voters in several states that Ben Carson had dropped out of the race (he had not at that point).

That was the point when Trump started going for Ted's jugular too, and he was completely right to do so.

Then, Ted pissed off even more people when he didn't even endorse Trump during his 2016 RNC speech because he was so butthurt from losing. He told voters to "vote their conscience."

Lyin' Ted is seriously at risk of losing his Senate seat, now more than ever. The average voter sees right through him I think. He only won reelection last time because he was up against Beto (who is just the worst lol).

Also ... Politically speaking ... What political relevance does Ted Cruz even have? He hasn't been part of any major legislation, hasn't changed anything in this country for the better ... He's just good at sound bites. That's literally it.

I haven't seen it but it makes sense. Him being shot at has effectively cemented his presidency, and the liberal media that has been attacking him for the past eight years are in the process of toning down the attacks on him, if not outright supporting him. Calling for his death online is now recognized as highly inappropriate, and the conservative party is falling in line. Additionally he's overall getting a level of respect he hasn't gotten in a while, and the last four cases against him have been dripped. If I was in his position I wouldn't be as angry either. I might be still a little rattled at nearly being killed though.
Still a long way to fight, the Dems know they're done for the next decade or so if he gets in so there's going to be tons of dirty tactic (3 mil. illegal immigrants, drop boxes, another assassination attempt, etc). This is the equivalent of fighting against a rabid animal that knows it's been cornered.

It would be a mistake to consider this week the peak of the election.
