I decided to watch a couple of BPITU clips and click through one episode. Dax is using old Maddox's intro format where he rhymes problems, this coupled with a new pirate persona makes Maddox-walking more apparent. There's no chemistry between Dax and vedo, the podcast sounds more like a permanent pre-show. Dax is just shitting on vedo and plays shitty jingles. The whole premise is to make vedo squirm, and I'm pretty sure 90% of their fans are there for this. Vedo brought a new stinger "Dickpocracy" made by Podawful, and questioned Dax about patreon deplatforming. Vedo and Podawful are friends, vedo even was in live chat during his stream yesterday. Vedo well aware that he's a new Maddox, it's just an alliance of convenience for a time being.

Interesting, so he has Vedo be the friendly Maddox (co-hosts his podcast, bats for him etc etc) while attempting to make Eric into the hostile Maddox (is channel enemy, does lolsuits). It worked with Vedo, not so much with Eric. Years of having Maddox on his mind 24/7 has caused him to see others as different versions of Maddox. That is the only explanation for his behavior on Eric. He has decided he found his new hostile Maddox and nothing seems to change his mind.
