He didn't necessarily bad mouth Wesley Snipes, he did something better: After getting booted from the case by Snipes himself, he and his co worker Robert Bernhoft were happy about their dismissal because they wouldn't be held responsible for Snipes's 3 year prison sentence on the misdemeanor charges. So Barnes uses Snipes's case as a way to get clients when he got dismissed from it and he and his co worker were happy that they were dismissed because they wouldn't bear the responsibility of Snipes's conviction.
