Honestly it more then just that. Trump has chased out the old blood of the GoP. You can tell because the MSM keeps going on how so and so didn't or wouldn't show up at this years RNC. Like without GW Bush somehow this year's event isn't legit.
Thune isn't here, Corynn too. Both old blood and both snubbed even though one of them is likely to replace Mitch. Sean Hannity isn't there but Tucker is...again very telling. Of course Pence wasn't going to show up but the MSM are again making a big deal outa that because you know Mike Pence is such a mover and shaker right? Him snubbing Trump is surely the story to tell and not that he wasn't offered a spot.
This is the new GoP, the older neo-cons arne't welcome unless the bend the knee. Which we saw a few do publicly on stage as penance. Hopefully Trump uses the next 4 years to reforge the Republican party into what it should be and moves it on from the graceful status quo losers it had morphed into thanks to so many grifters who just wanted to milk the public titty and to whom change and progress are dirty words.

Agreed. I highly recommend this interview with Tyler Vargas-Andrews, US Marine, who lost limbs and was basically tore to shit from the bombing. It's an unreal story to hear it from an "on the ground" perspective.
edit: I listen to many hours of interviews a week and this one still stands out clearly in my mind almost a year later. It also includes the footage of testimony that he gave to Congress.
