You can tell when a speech is good by how fast the live thread moves on Reddit. Notice all the “Now”s next to the names? They are in full seethe and cope mode from Don Jr.

People who keep saying Teddy lost are omitting the fact that it was Teddy's 3rd or 4th term, not consecutive, and he split the vote: there was another R president in office who was the nominee. Teddy ran as an independent, and I believe he came in second place. His loss is not indicative of how it goes in a 2 party vote. Especially when the opponent is weak and disliked.

The only thing that's missing from this convention is deep American oratory skills. Trump has his style but what's missing is the rare combination of excellent writing, precise timing, and deadlock tone. The skills found in the best preachers. Luckily that skill has also disappeared from Democrats. There have been good speakers and great stories, but the magic of having the excellent delivery---that's the shit that goes in history books.

At least the Democrats will never see the likes of an Ann Richards ever again.
