Yeah, that was my thought. I figured he just gave up on having meat as the entree but might still have a portion on the side, or perhaps he only skips it during meals they eat together while eating his usual diet the rest of the time. I feel like if he had gone vegetarian she would have just said that. I can certainly respect accommodating a spouse's dietary restrictions when eating together, be it religious or allergies/intolerances

She's vegetarian not vegan, vegetarians aren't as hated. Even if we assume she meant he also abstains from meat now, I'm actually gonna say that a lot of men are used to their wife dictating, influencing, or making them compromise for their diet. As much as I like Teddy the man, the progressive movement ultimately was about the destructing of localized charity in favor of social security and mass insurance schemes, income taxes that crush the middle and working class, and the federal reserve we all have to deal with now, and Teddy spearheaded a lot of this.
