Vance repeating the line from the WW2 vet, invoking poor Kentuckians, that America isn't just an idea or principle, it's their home. That's not a coincidence, this is a coordinated message.

"People will not fight for abstractions, but they will fight for their home." - disagree, people will sometimes die for the abstract, but he's mostly correct. This is going to be killer for them if they stay on message the whole election.

This is a direct, unambiguous shot at the neo-con crowd. They know exactly what he just said.

This is not a policy prescription for the status quo. Its a repudiation of the Treaty of San Francisco that ended World War 2.

The Republican Party is no longer the party that believes the United States is a global hegemon of the liberal world order. The Liberal World Order is its own thing, and the USA is its own thing. The clock is reset to 1913 as far as North America is concerned. The world can hang.

This can be good or bad. Depending on who gets to dangle.

NYT just reported that Biden is 'more receptive' to talks about dropping out, which probably does mean they're forcing him to listen even if they can't make him see reason.

There's no way anyone can watch this RNC top to bottom and think that Biden won't get cooked.

The issue is I don't think anybody else seriously wants to fall on their sword and get beat by Trump compared to letting Biden take the fall while saying 'I told you so'

He's really winning me over. Just talking about housing prices was more than enough to get me on his side but he keeps going. Him showing his mom and congratulating her on being 10 years sober was fantastic. After so many years of people getting addicted to pharma bullshit it's going to relate to a shit ton of people.

Guy is only 39 years old, Democrats should be pissing themselves right now.
He won me over when he mentioned having friends who died of fentanyl. One of my greatest desires is to have fentanyl producers and slingers drawn and quartered on livestreams.

The Biden family is counting on this scenario.

Biden needs to make it past November so he can pardon Hunter's (and any other family member's) crimes during his lame duck period.

If here were going to step down he would still have that lame duck period regardless. I think he just doesn't want to do it before the election because of how much of a bad look it would be regardless of whether he's the candidate or not.

How much of this Joe is strategizing I don't know. It seems like he's still there at times, but at others he's clearly gone, and a lot of the time he looks to be holding on by the barest of threads.

I think it's Jill and Hunter pumping him up with the arrogance that he's fine and that he's going to beat Trump.

They really want that gravy train to keep going.

And if the Dems are trying to force them out, I can 100% see them being the type of family to stay in out of spite because of their bruised egos.

Remember, "Nobody fucks with a Biden."

This is just a minor nitpick, but I'm kinda tired of hearing the song 'don't stop, thinking about tomorrow' at every political event.

Could we at least get the instrumentals to the now famous 50 cent song? Maybe Can't be touched by Roy Jones? Because, seriously, at this point not only is Donald Trump politically invulnerable, he's literally dodging bullets now.

Donald Trump! If you're lurking on the farms! Can't be touched by Roy Jones Jr! It's the perfect intro song!

Pretty alright speech, it did what it needed to do. The remarks about his mother and grandmother were nice and so were the ones about the suffering of the working class. He completely dodged mentioning what he did after graduating Yale Law School and his policies on Israel but that probably was the right move. One of the biggest takeaways from this was the message of civic nationalist populism.

This is a million pages back by now but, I’ve been thinking about this a lot. The damage the lockdowns did to kids is going to resonate for a long time and has barely been discussed. As much as it sucked for adults, it absolutely crushed important development for kids and has resulted in so much mental illness and behavioral issues no one evens knows what to do about it. What the government did to our kids is a crime against humanity.
And it was all done because the uniparty wanted any reason possible to kick Trump out - this was around the time he had an impeachment after all.
