Sorry if answered, but seeing that he had a remote detonator of some kind, I thought about how to do it and the easiest thing I could think of was those wireless plugs they sell for lamps.

Someone found the exact model of the remote device seen in the photo. It's a remote trigger for electrically-activated mortar fireworks. The "bomb" may have just been a bunch of mortars in the car.

The bombs really don't add up.

The best explanation I can think of is the kid wanted to shoot and then run away, detonating the bombs as a distraction to cover his ass. Except this plan doesn't work because it assumed the USSS is gonna just not react to Trump getting shot and have counter snipers around. Anyone who goes as far as to design such a bomb and detonator system has to have known that the feds use counter snipers as security. It's the sort of plan you make up when idly contemplating the act but not actually putting real effort on it, just a idle fancy on your head.

If they said this is what was happening I could believe it, but the fact the bombs were dropped from the story and no one is mentioning it makes it sus.

Another possibility that's been floated is that the car bomb was part of some ploy to distract the SS so the shooter could act and that the one at home was meant to destroy evidence. It doesn't make a lot of sense though since if one went off it would prompt the SS to immediately remove Trump to a secure location. I think it's more believable that it was part of some getaway distraction plan - that also doesn't make much sense but whoever put him up to it might have convinced him it was a foolproof way to escape so he wouldn't think he was on a suicide mission. If he was groomed into acting whoever contacted him may have understated the level of counter-sniper protection, making him think he could get away.

Anyone who groomed him knew he wouldn't survive the attempt, yet alone the success. I believe a distraction wasn't the plan, that wouldn't have worked for the reasons you mentioned, and any glowies foreign or domestic would have known that. I think he was SUPPOSED to set off the bombs, destroying any and all evidence.

We already know basically fuck all about this kid. (At least, trusting the FBI not to be hiding him having blatant and extreme connections to the far left or gender bullshit or what have you.) Imagine if all his electronics were destroyed, too.
