This speech is a perfect example why Trump's supporters like him and why his opponents get so mad about him. He will say stuff no other politician will say, seem authentic in the process, ad-lib stuff while hitting key points and then usually confidently move from statement to statement without letting anything hold him down no matter how odd it may sound.

the restaurant I worked at, part of my onboarding, and this was 15 years ago, but it was common practice to declare 10% or so of your tips. I already feel like 90% of restaurant workers aint declaring that shit if its in cash. You might be able to declare a higher taxable income/credit/whatever but I dont think thats something most restaurant workers are interested in

When I started in a restaurant we didn't declare any cash tips. I left for a better job around 2014. In 2022 I went back to the same restaurant, now run by zoomers who were religiously adamant about declaring all tips. They were miserable people to work with. Dead eyed, grumpy like a 70 year old, rude, and insanely obedient to rules that hurt the workers, for reasons I can only think is the power trip dopamine hit to help relieve their resentment for life in general. It was a fun job when I was 19, working with 24-32 year Olds. We worked hard, played hard. After, even the GM was barely 23, and the staff was miserable. All they did was suck down vapes like candy and stare silently on their breaks. Trying to make any conversation with them made them even more zombie like. An extreme energy drain.
