McVeigh wasn't a conservative and I'm pretty tired of hearing people spread this myth so here it is. Contrary to the media narrative that McVeigh was a Republican voting Christian in his journal he described himself as a pot smoking atheist who wrote that both Democrats and Republicans were "slaves of the state." In addition interviews with his friends revealed that he never voted, went to church, or pursued any kind of education or self improvement. If anything he resembled a modern Reddit or Tumblr user than any sort of conservative.
