Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I’ve recently been looking at Animaniacs or rather Pinky and the Brain here and there. I’m pretty curious on the current consensus for it on this side of the forum (we can throw the revival in there for good measure, which I’ve been watching more of for some reason).

I gotta a few choice words for both, but not sure how to get my thoughts together because it’s pretty complicated lol

He May be a mick cartoon sperg but at least he put this pos and it's source in its place. But as the saying going broken clock and all that.

Also I actually forgot it wasn't just the Flatbread sand monkey they removed but pretty much all the racist stereotypes that were practically ripped from old looney tunes cartoons.

As someone in marks comment section says, why even make this series if you're just gonna sand off what little edge you had with the racism humor?

Sausage party was about as edgy as a steak knife. Still able to actually hurt someone but there are better edged weapons out there. It's sequel show is edgy as a butter knife, it might hurt someone a little but it will only "cut" someone who's got paper thin skin.

Apparently Daron Nefcy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and is getting treatment.

Man that sucks. Hope she can beat it.
Star Vs was one of my favorite shows of the last decade, and even if it fucking shot itself multiple times in the foot before committing seppuku, I still love the show and respect Nefcy's efforts.

That and you could say it was the original sin for Disney's tv animation going downhill. The first seasons a pretty episodic TV cartoon but the second started the serialization aspect almost every Disney show says ghost and Molly Mcgee, hamster and gretel and big city green have taken on.....among other problems.

According to what I've heard, Disney forces every single show's first season to be episodic comedic antics and only gives them freedom for longer plots if they survive past that season:
[The Ghost & Molly McGee] does that first season of a Modern Cartoon thing where after faffing about for 18 episodes it decides to have an ongoing plot all of a sudden and get kind of good. [Star Vs] did this. Owl House did this. Gravity Falls did this. I don’t know who at Disney hates the idea of the plot progressing before the end of season one, but I wish they were dead.
Also why are you trying to make this into a conspiracy

This is what appears to be Kevin Conroy's final voice performance before his death. A short clip from the animated DC Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 movie that just came out, where the DCAU is being destroyed. Conroy is reprising his original Batman role as the Batman from Batman TAS.
Not really an ending I love, considering the whole universe is being wiped from existence, but at least it's a good final line for him.
(Also, side note, if that's really Mark Hamill voicing Joker, I don't know what the hell happened to his voice, it's horrible.)

Have you SEEN any recent photos of Mark Hamill? He's aged badly, his minds turned to mush that aspouses the same regurgitated Hollywood vomit, and his voice could give Julie Kavner's voice a run for "vocal decay." Much like how kavners been using the same growly voice for Marge Simpson and her sisters for nearly 40 years. Hamill constantly straining his voice by doing the joker laugh so much over the last 30, coupled with old age has reached its limit.

A way better sendoff for Kevin Conroy than Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Why do these writers keep working for animation companies like Disney?

These writers are the kind of idiots who are never going to get ahead in life.
>Nick treats any show that isn’t SpongeBob-worthy of success like crap
>CN hasn’t had any new shows for the past two years thanks to the Discovery merger
>Sony’s been making shows based on their animated films and outsourcing them to Nelvana
>DreamWorks and Universal has inconsistent quality with their output

So this has been going for about a month already, but better late then never:
Kimcartoon's admin has been actively at war with the adblocker community, constantly updating his anti-adblock filters to make sure nobody can use it on his site and probably stalking the Ublock Origin subreddit for new filters to get around. Sucks, since it was my go-to western cartoon streamer on desktop and wco isn't nearly as smooth.

Here's an interesting (hopefully) tidbit I'd like to share: When I was in my early teens, I went on a European coach trip, and one of the stops was a hotel in Vienna, and on the telly, they had Drawn Together, but the German dub, of course. I found it fucking hilarious, and when I went back and watched the original American dub a few weeks ago, on Pluto TV, and found it just as funny as I did when I first discovered the series.

To all my (lazy) niggas/niggers across the world:

It's not really a great time for mainstream Western animation. Hopefully things pick up next year.
