Not everyone who'd be interested in learning about this topic has the time / patience to watch these types of YouTube documentaries, but due to VRC's inherently closed-off nature, these YouTube documentaries are also some of the best resources for outsiders to dig into the parts of the community that most VRC users would rather sweep under the rug.

So anybody willing to go through and extract all the relevant context, screencaps, videos, testimony, etc. from these types of YouTube docs for people who prefer reading over watching 1hr+ long videos, your help would be greatly appreciated.

VRChat is just the equivalent of using Discord. I don't see what makes you think it had any potential to begin with. Rec Room is a better VRChat and I've had far better interactions playing that

Someone explain to me what VRChat has over joining random VCs in big Discord servers.

A year ago VRChat's entire community got buttblasted at the devs adding Easy Anti-Cheat because they were concerned their butt toys would stop working. Basically they need a mod loader that injects into the game to know when the device should tickle their prostate, and they can't do that when there's an anti-cheat.
I drew that conclusion on my own because I genuinely could not find a single post explaining the importance of being able to inject mods besides the blanket term "quality of life". You don't need a mod loader if you're deaf and need a transcription overlay, that's just a shitty cop-out, and having to use AMD FSR for performance is the result of allowing faggots to bypass the SDK limits and upload utter dogshit. QOL should be up to the devs to implement, not randoms.
These people would rather have GTA Online tier modders shitting up worlds if it meant they could still have a toy shoot oscillations up their ass.

I wasn't kidding when I said buttblasted. That gigantic review bomb occured when the AC was announced.

Speaking of uploads, last I played this trainwreck it allowed people to use custom shaders with their avatars. You can guess the outcome of allowing someone to run arbitrary code on other people.
It's actually shockingly common how many idiots have a 'crasher' at the ready, just so they can feel slightly superior. Methinks this hasn't changed, all I can see is the devs thought splitting the userbase by "new player" and "trusted" would solve this, when the latter group are the ones terminally online enough to actually do it.
The correct way to play this retarded game is to disable all custom avatars and effects and watch these idiots squirm as they realize you denied the game to hotload their 300MB anime/furry fetish garbage and while(true) crash shader.

Another correct thing to do is to not play this game at all holy shit. It's just ass. If you've ever tried playing Second Life because you saw the funny trolling vids it's basically that game but with zoomers. I expect this thread to produce a bountiful harvest even if it came a little late
