Following Mike Pence being booed at a performance of Hamilton on Broadway, President-elect Donald Trump has called for theatre to be a "safe and special place" where Vice-Presidents can cuddle teddybears and fill-in colouring books.

Correct, it is not hypocritical to use your opponents tactics against them, especially if when doing so you can point out how silly they are.

I don't agree with Pence's close-mindedness toward the LGBT community, but it was a play and not a platform for social justice. These people think that just because they have over-representation in the liberal media, that they're somehow in the majority.
There were probably tons of LGBT, Latinos, Blacks, Jews, and immigrants for Trump & Pence.

I have to admit though, Trump's calling out this theater was much like Chris calling out MTV's depiction of him as a lunatic, in the sense that nothing really happened. Trump should have enforced a show of power by forcing the cast to wash the windows outside of Trump towers with just a few rags and an old rope.

With all the hilarity of Trump demanding a safe space from all those meanies, I must have missed his "IT WAS JUST A PRANK BRO" punchline.

Seriously though, the cast was pretty respectful. It was the crowd that was booing, and yet Trump was fine painting the cast as assholes with his 140 character brush. Fuck Trump and fuck Pence.

I will never understand why Americans so idolize actors. They play parts, say words written for them to say, wear clothes that aren't theirs, their work is basically "dress-up and pretend."
Is amusement and entertainment the basic concern of American lives? Is that why actors/singers are treated like royalty? Why are they so exalted, so revered by the American public? I've never understood the weird dynamic of this fascination, it's baffling.

Here's what happened since I haven't seen anyone post the video yet.


The crowd did the booing and from what I'm hearing the cast made them stop. The actor speaking is openly gay and has HIV apparently (according to CNN) but I don't know what that has to do with anything.

Edit: Apparently Pence wants to use funds that'd be used for HIV/AIDS treatment for conversion therapy? So I guess it's a bit more personal. This is random stuff I'm hearing from CNN so take that as you will.
