Philosophy Tube / Oliver Lennard / Oliver "Olly" Thorn / Abigail Thorn - Breadtube's Patrick Bateman.

Olly you're just a white guy in a white country. Stop speaking for actual minorities and women.
It's worse than that, he's a very rich white man in a very rich white man country. He's the class enemy of his own political thought. No wonder he trooned out, anything to obfuscate his own privilege. Remember when he bragged about being related to an older faction of the British monarchy? Ollie is the man that keeps the boot on societal change, him being a troon could be argued as an example of the elite co-opting social movements for their own benefit (AGP fetish fuel and getting roles)

Considering that Glidus and Alt shift X, too big ASOIAF youtubers are contracted with Nebula, I would hazard a guess nebula will pay those two to talk about Ollies character in HOtD. They both shout out Ollie explicitly when they do their ad read for Nebula, fuck maybe ollie will come one for one of their nebula exlcuside videos.
Damn.
Ah well, we've always got the comment section to turn to for our laughs. Seeing normie randomers newly discover how bad he is at acting, and opining thereforth, is always a wholesome sight to behold.

RE Choob Chin a funny thing to do on a picture of his, is live your finger over where a chin would end if he had a female skull, then see how long you have to keep going moving your finger til his actual chin really ends.
When you have your finger covering up his whole chin, you're like, hmm, still doesn't look female, so then you move your other finger up to his hairline, then you're set a bit better-but the problem becomes his nose, which is just so incredibly long.

But if he had a(nother) nose job to make it smaller, that would then leave a tiny tiny nose in an ocean of face - and here we have the problem of Facial Feminisation Surgery. There is just no way.

I've come to the conclusion a long time ago that the race angle will be his ultimate undoing all it would take is some medium stinkpiece by a BAME media/intelligentsia insider with a milquetoast title like 'The Unbearable Whiteness of Abigail Thorn' for it to be the end for his fragile male ego. FR tho, his whiteness really IS unbearable in behaviour and appearance. Is it just me, or do AGP troons like Olly flex how pale their skin is because they're oblivious to womens' fashion or skincare, or is it due tot the fact because they are in their own self-imposed worldview the only white folx who are free from sin, and can oply flaunt thier sangre azul?

Its great to see two men raising each other up in this matriarchal society we all live in

What the fuck does that mean? 'set 500 years before Revel moon' okay I didn't care about the world at that point in its timeline why would I care about it 500 years earlier. Its not House of the Dragon where going back hundreds of years from Game of Thrones to tell an interesting and compelling story about the deaths of all the dragons. Or going back 80-90 years to explore the Targs trying to get their dragons back while dealing with more familial civil war with the Blackfyre rebellions like Dunk and Egg does. Still as bad as Rebel moon is its still more creative than anything Ollie is capable of. His acting career seems to be circling the drain, two big breakes last year and nothing since tells me he was mistakenly seen as the shiny new elite british classical trained actor thats trans, and when push came to shove he was toxic/ unpleasant to work with and bad at acting. I wonder how many it will be until get gets another speaking role in a big tv show again, if ever.

Toob has forfeited his traits that work against him (only in theory, mind you) in the progressive sphere. He's no longer male, "cis", or straight. He is a stunning transgender lesbian woman. I'm sure in his carefully curated LARP he's given some thought to the fact he's still white as the driven snow and always will be, but he can probably just use that to self flagellate now and then and prove it's totally not always about him and he really does have enough self awareness to know when he's "privileged" (I bet if you sift through his Twitter/Tumblr there will be an old post at some point where he says something along the lines of "as a white actress, I don't have to deal with the same things actresses of colour do" etc. etc.). I don't think he gives it much thought beyond that, as a white person in the UK you never actually have to think about your race. It's irrelevant and anti-white racism just isn't a meaningful thing. Toob is the smuggest of smug posh cunts and the other Brits in this thread recognise his type immediately. I'd bet that Toob is lowkey actually privately racist if anything, lol.

This is such a cope about his own bad acting. It doesn't matter that Olly is utterly wooden in everything he's been in: he has a lot of "technical skills," crying as needed etc. If someone isn't touched by this show of technical mastery, it can't be because he's failed to come off as a convincing human—it has to be because of some failing on their part. After all, he's been to acting school. Thus he already possesses flawless expertise and anyone who threatens to penetrate his narc bubble is trying to belittle him personally. I thought that when you dedicate your entire life to something like Olly wants to do for his acting, you have to open yourself up to learning and changing. It's supposed to be a lifelong process. Olly is a bad actor now, but he'll never be anything but a bad actor if he's telling himself he's already achieved "mastery."

A slight market correction related to COVID meets end of ZIRP is hardly an extinction level event for a centuries old industry that's really the conglomeration of at least five industries that were separate only slightly before Olly's lifetime.

Oh this is good, it means at the very least he had lots of lines, to expect his part to be of substantial significance.

If it's not that will be a consolation prize in the funny stakes, because it'll mean that he will have sucked and been giga-cut:
But if a large amount survives then we are going to get so much awful toobing and nerd channels dissecting his crapting.
Is anyone here actually watching the series already ? I never bothered with GoT so it's well out of my sphere of interest.

LMAO he's getting his excuses in early!

Oh
my
God.
I think that so far in his acting career Choob was able to cope with the lack of positive reactions by saying "they cut so much, if you saw how much I filmed..." and now he has nowhere to hide from how wooden he comes off even against the cast of HOTD, all of them coming off as tired this season. You have to be a particular flavour of shit to stand out so much you feel like coping before it even premieres. Dunno, maybe some early reviewers just said something mildly not praising and he noped out.

Oh, you went to acting school you posh fuck. How sweet, just because you have a paper saying you used 4 years of your life learning something doesn't mean you are shit. There's a reason most actors that can afford it are constantly going to workshops and seeking new experiences to expand the emoting gamut. No matter how good you are, it's never enough. Ow, you are being "self-deprecating" while throwing other people under the bus. You come off as a bitch, not because you are a "woman" complaining but because you are bitchboy crying because you don't get your way.

Gimme hats or gimme death but I've said my peace.

I'm anticipating an angel of death outfit and possibly a sissified grim reaper. Possibly a revisited skull face makeup.

He doesn't even have that, which is what makes his "I went to drama school so I'm an expert on acting" cope extra funny. He did a one year MA in Acting at the University of Essex. He might now know who Rudolf von Laban is, but an expert on the technical elements of acting he is not. There will unironically be amateur actors who are more comfortable talking about how they approach Grotowski's "poor theatre" than Ollie, who literally staged a play on a deliberately minimalist set.

At the end of the day, this goes back to his thing about trying to make "Brechtian" comedy for comedians instead of making his audience laugh. Technical acting skills and theory provide a toolkit for actors to refine their acting, but if you're a shitty actor then no amount of running around in Basel masks is going to help. I think he thinks that he's a master of technical acting because he e.g. uses the Stanislavski's idea of "creating a life" to flesh out an elaborate backstory to his characters, in the hopes this will provide hidden depths to his role. And he thinks he achieves it because he delved into Ensign Eurus and decided "Eurus is on the darkside but she wouldn't have thought about it that way, and she just cares about other people in the coven". Which on a very surface level is technical work, but it doesn't actually help because he can't communicate that through a naturalistic performance so it ends up like this:

It's his urge to be the smartest person in the room. If he says to other actors that he's integrating Uta Hagen's idea of "entering in circumstance" for the next scene instead of just saying "I'm going to act distracted and preoccupied because my character was woken suddenly and is frightened", he might get some sage nods because they recognise he's studied technical acting. He's missing the part where he then delivers his line as "You must. HIDE! The children?" while doing eyebrow acrobatics and the other actors roll their eyes at his terrible performance. It's like someone talking to you for 10 minutes about the different angles you use for making dovetail joints in hardwood vs softwood and thinking they know a lot about carpentry, only to see that they can't saw in a straight line.

Do you think he would get the joke of this sketch? Or how well Emma Stone sells this character who is based around a single characteristic? Or the layer about how much she puts into a role that's actually not really more defined than the one the actress character is playing? Look at the construction the character creates for the "wife" that doesn't exist at all for the character but isn't even needed to be shown.

His concept of acting is like his concept of philosophy, it's this very technical construction that doesn't involve any actual thinking about the world you exist in, you just do what others have said and results happen.

That sketch arguably makes two philosophical points that are higher than Olly's PhilosophyTube output. The director's description of the character and her false premise that the "woman bin" contains clues to something. If we take Olly's recent productions about "phantasms" seriously (unlike Olly did) then he shouldn't understand why either of these were punchlines that needed no explanation.
