This has been my theory as to why the dems may be pulling a Weekend at Bernie's with Biden. They refuse to let Harris take the reigns while there's a question as to who her VP is, and there's been a lot of infighting over who that would be. Now that she has a running mate for the election things may be allowed to progress, but we'll see. If this ends up being the case, the address that Biden was announced to be making soon may be him stepping down so the hand-off can take place as quickly as possible.

You can't have a Democrat campaigning on an anti-war platform. This isn't the 00s anymore, get with the times boomer.

Tulsi is the only Democrat along with RFK that could potentially pull votes from across the spectrum. She wouldn't get my vote against Trump, but would easily win against any RINO

It says right there may be filled. That's just wikipedia though. The relevant term in the amendment is "shall," which is not a compulsory term. It can be vacant. If there is a tie in the electoral college and there is no VP it goes to the House delegations for a contingent voot

The Speaker is third in the line of presidential succession. If there is no one filling the second spot, the Speaker is second until and unless the spot is filled

"shall" absolutely means "must" in legal terms, what are you talking about? as in, "shall not be infringed".

But Shall IS a compulsory term. Ignoring the 2nd Amendment (cause god knows the shitheads in DC do), the 6th Amendment states "the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial." They HAVE to give you a speedy and public trial. It's not optional. And again, ignoring the Military Tribunal shit violating the 6th Amendment (because again, god knows the shitheads in DC do)...

Trump is meeting with Bibi


In a message on his Truth Social network, GOP US presidential candidate Donald Trump says that he will meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tomorrow at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

He does not indicate when the meeting will take place, but it will likely happen after Netanyahu’s speech to Congress, which begins at 2 p.m. Washington time (9 p.m. Israel time).

“During my first term, we had Peace and Stability in the Region, even signing the Abraham Accords – And we will have it again,” Trump writes, adding that “millions are dying, and Kamala Harris is in no way capable of stopping it.”

They know that she won't fill a larger venue and it would look bad putting her in anything larger.

I think the problem is that they overestimated with the high school gymnasium though and still end up looking stupid regardless. If they booked any more high schools at least they can probably switch to a classroom or maybe even the janitor's closet.

Oddly enough the best bet for Harris is to pull a Biden and just hide out for most of the election

Let the MSM do all the heavy lifting for your campaign as every time you speak publicly your numbers go down. Now Harris is a bit on the insane side so she may not be receptive to such and idea.

A lot of Pol's look at the worship Trump gets with a sense of longing and their ego's are twisted enough to think that if they could just get out there and reach "the people" then they too would be just as loved.

I can see Harris refusing to stay put and going out again and again. Each time her polls will sink as she's about as charismatic as Ebola. The sad truth is no matter how terrible a candidate Harris is she's still guaranteed those 225 votes thanks to the East and West coast voters. So all she needs is one or two swing states that have been properly fortified and boom the first "black" female PotUS.

It can, and may very well happen.

SCOTUS and constitutional scholars both agree that, whenever 'shall' appears in the constitution it means 'you fucking do it'.
The relevant text is:
Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

Basically the Vice Presidency can't be vacant. Before the 25th Amendment you'd get vacancies if either the President or the Vice President died (both happened to McKinley, his first VP died leaving the office vacant, and then he died and Teddy didn't have a VP when he succeeded to the office) but, since Kennedy, that's no longer possible.

But there is no deadline or remedy in the 25th Amendment for not affirming a VP. The Pres could submit names that won't be confirmed. Besides, Congress is out campaigning for their own re-elections and have no interest being stuck in DC for confirmation hearings and all that vote bullshit. It would take weeks.
