No way, he doesn't have direct milk himself as a lolcow. He's the biggest commentary slop drop creator specifically because he's so inoffensive and devoid of interesting controversy.

The few things he has done which are scummy are mostly forgettable anyways, like sweeping for xQc cheating in chess tournaments with cash prizes because they were both part of the same streaming collective. Even that was nearly half a decade ago and there's nothing to really discuss about it.

There will always be one wiredo who does, who will get negrated to the ground and berated by other members and I've even seen mod notes on said posts with a warning sign and an edit saying something like "don't do this".

I mean, we have 113,000 forum members at this point, there's bound to be some poop touchers in there, but it's neither encouraged or tolerated by site culture.

And as far as I'm aware none of us think swatting is funny or cool.

None of this surprises me, Oney used to pal around with actual trannies and have them on his show. I get the impression he's chaser, and as such a porn-sick individual who will tolerate a lot. I've seen this bandied about, though I'm not a neuroscientist so a lot of the jargon in the paper itself goes over my head, however on a high level I'd like to see a replication of these findings specifically singling out trans-identifying individuals to see if there's any more similarity in the measured effects than between the averages of each biological sex. I have a funny feeling that would be a hard paper to get funded in modern academia, though.

I don’t like Mr. Beast (proud to say I haven’t watched even a second of any video) but consider the following two options:
  1. Chris has some type of dirt on Mr. Beast whether it is sex pestery related, financial, familial, etc. He knew if he fired him there was a big risk that Chris would go nuclear on social media with the “tea” and would have absolute impunity due to his status as the current special pet group of current year politics.
  2. Chris has no dirt but would go nuclear with the “I was fired only because my supposed friends don’t respect me as a true and honest wahmen!” Unfortunately this group of people, despite being an exceedingly small minority, are extremely vocal with an even louder group of defenders. Corpos treat them like they’re sacred cash cows and thus put them on a pedestal. They would 100% choose whatever dollars or social credit they get from appeasing the rainbow alphabet than the revenue Mr. Beast generates.
If it’s the former then he deserves whatever is coming to him and that can’t come soon enough. If it is the latter then I guess I might have a modicum of understanding.

Also consider that people generally don’t want to believe bad things about friends or family.
Denial over the behavior and actions of loved ones can run deep and in particularly bad cases become an inexcusable, unhealthy delusion. Maybe Mr. Beast thought the Shad art poster was some kind of funny meme or hung on the wall ironically. Maybe he thought his friend was just in weird phase.

Nobody really knows right now (myself included, though I lean toward option 1) but I don’t think it is fair to assume Mr. Beast being naive or in denial is impossible.

I think the only thing he really cares about is influencing people. Not even 'being popular'; just influencing people. At some point he calculated that the best way to influence others was to make money and be inoffensive so that he can do big things that grab peoples' attention. He did some interview last year about how he wanted to be president one day, and has some kind of gameplan for how he will get there. He wants influence, and will do whatever he can do get there on his terms. Having branded food was the next step beyond just being a YouTuber.

The problem with trying to be inoffensive so that you can keep influencing people is that at some point, you're going to allow something to happen that shouldn't.

The journo in the article basically says the same thing. Machine learning requires a lot of data so the best you will get is throwing a few troon MRIs into the existing model and seeing where they land (hint: there are no dots in the middle).
