Coal miners make very good money in the states. For one thing, it's a union gig. For the other, it's a job most people can't and/or won't do.

I'm an electrical engineer that some times commission mine hoists. When I am in the mine, I'm the lowest paid fucker there.

In regards to the trailer, in a lot of coal country, it's just easier to use a trailer home than it is to try and cut a foundation into the side of a mountain.

So pretty much on paper, boogie grew up in a low cost of living area of the country, with a dual income household, both of which would have put him well above middle class. He grew up the opposite of poor.
Was it 50 years ago though? Im not american so i dont know how the mining business have developed there, but miners can have gotten a long way since 50 years ago?

Boogie's said before that his parents made good money, just that none of the money went to him, which is is complete bullshit because he was a fatass kid.

Coal mining in the 70's~80's was a pretty decent living, and it still is today. Most of the poverty in the Appalachian region where most of the coal mines are is more from automation leading to fewer of those jobs being available than there were in the past.

I'm not from US so I'm not sure if kids going to college signals that they were not poor. Don't all kids just do it on credit? Alcoholic coal miner doesn't strike me as mid class, and teacher mother can be neither here nor there. If they lived in a trailer is that really middle class?

His lack of financial literacy is almost certainly because family didn't have much money and they were spending every paycheck before the next one even came.
I would say he grew up poor but not crackhead parents poor. A lot of parents seem to think their kids are spoiled if they get consoles and video games where realistically those aren't that expensive.

He also didn’t grow up in a trailer. We’ve seen his Virgina house, which he left to decay and rot. It’s rural but there are decent homes around and his is the blight of the neighborhood since he didn’t do the minimum of upkeep. Trees taking down the roof, floors collapsed, stuff like that.

When he was working with story fire and did his going home videos, he walked through the ruins and said shit like “there’s the table I was raped under” and stuff like that.

So Boogie also lied about the trailer. Rural doesn’t always mean poor.

Metokur all the way.

You know, it's extra funny because Boogie's go to deflection is to talk about how he was raped by someone, but because he took the position that he can't talk about his rapes as it's too traumatic he had to constantly bounce between it being something he can't talk about to telling everyone the time he had to suck dick for his bike.

I could be really late on this, but I wonder what big story broke in 2018 that he cribbed the “dad raped me” idea from, because I totally believe he saw someone else find success from sharing their sob story and thought he could do the same. That’s why it came out of no where, and not some gay “I finally came to terms with it” bullshit, or whatever excuse it was that he used to explain why the rape stories kept getting more and more ridiculous.

I personally can’t really think of anything, but I thought I’d throw it out there for the Kiwi hivemind to do its thing.

I dont know. I just think he is retarded.
Dont people who grow up poor usually handle money quite carefully? Real question...cuz i dont know. But thats the logical step i take from it and coming from a fairly poor home...pardon the powerleveling. But my experience both personal and with people around me is that being raised poor/low income usually HELPS people handle their money better?
Not if they didn’t work hard to earn their money, and even if they have they still might end up like this. Someone who was broke their whole life suddenly getting a huge injection of money is gonna feel this kind of high, and this false sense of invincibility. They get incredibly overwhelmed because they never had to experience the long process of gradually working up to that state, so they have no clue how to actually do it right. And this isn’t just applicable to trailer trash poverty stricken kids either, it happens to middle class people too. Anyone who goes from nice living to having so much money you could literally burn it without feeling anything is gonna fall for this. That’s why people who win the lottery lose it all and then some.

Boogie never had to work hard for anything in his life. His YouTube success is a sheer fluke, being at the right place at the right time. His crypto earnings were the equivalent of winning the lottery. He had the easiest job in the world since day 1, arguably the most effort he ever put in was for Francis shit but a) it was mostly Dez1’s production, and b) that’s not exactly high effort content.

Here is the list of people/groups/entities Boogie2988 utilised to shield himself from criticism, or in a futile attempt at manipulation. This spans his cryptocurrency scam and his lies regarding cancer and molestation.

Who did I miss?
You missed him cynically trying to pander to Republican's with the "Dad was a firefighter" lie as a way of attacking Destiny and trying to pivot the conversation away from his cancer lies.

I'm not from the USA either, but if his mother was a teacher (so was college educated) and the kids also went on to go to college, that's a middle class culture/lifestyle. Or it certainly would have been when Boogie was growing up.

My parents were both unskilled factory workers. After my mum had her first kid, she stopped working until her youngest (the third) went to secondary school, up to the age of about 15, I grew up in a house with a single income on a low wage. I was about 14 before we had a family car or our own phone, but that wasn't unusual when I was growing up.

I'm a bit older than Boogie, but things hadn't changed that dramatically when he was growing up. My parents definitely had to watch the budget and there was no money for luxuries, but I never felt 'poor'. We never went without toys for Christmas or Birthdays. We always had an annual holiday. My family was what you'd consider 'respectable working class'.

Boogie's family were significantly better off than we were. I suppose it's that old saw about 'relative deprivation'. If everybody in your neighbourhood is a two car family and you only have one, then you'll feel poor. If nobody in your neighbourhood has a car, but you have a rusty old beater that starts intermittently, you'll probably feel like a king among men.

I said years ago that Boogie used to deliberately take longer periods of time to reveal trauma he may or may not have experienced in his past because it was a calculated attempt to sell to his audience that he was working on his issues and was healing. He couldn't just sell everything all at once, he had to do it over a longer course because that is how it would naturally occur for a normal human being. It was also a good way to keep his grift going longterm.

What ended up happening as more and more criticism began to mount against him, he had to more quickly start talking about his past because it was his only way to shield himself from accusations. Stories, whether made up or true, that would have taken years for him to reveal were suddenly coming out all at once. It was part of the reason why a lot of people started seeing through his bullshit persona, they were being bombarded all at once and they knew this wasn't normal.

At this point he has fried the trauma angle out and all the manipulation tactics he had have been thrown all over the place that he no longer has any idea on what to do.

looking at his brother and sister...we can assume their parents were shitty white trash.(the rape and all is clearly bs but they still grew up in a shitty white trash home).
the similarities between his family and wing family is clearly there...if boogie sister would have come out as wing sister no one would have questioned it.

poor family do not learn how to manage money/saving/investing...coming from a poor background doesnt make you suddenly smart with money...all studies point to the complete opposite.the same way hes terrible at everything else in life, hes been terrible with his own money(which is why hes broke beside the home equity he has).
the most likely truth is that boogie and his 2 siblings were left to do w/e they wanted growing up (negligent parents) and that boogie never learned responsibility or delayed gratification. his parents were probably shoving fried chicken into their mouth instead of raising them.
boogie being comfortable in this arrangement has tried to maintain this way of living all his life and find that the easiest way to get what he wants is to manipulate others by lying and targeting weak people.

tldr all boogie problems come from being emotionally 6 year old.

Watching Boogie discuss another molestation story while Keemstar wears a cardboard box, Wings sports a top hat, and Muta seems disconnected from it all is an incredibly surreal experience.
You know, it's REALLY funny you happen to mention this, because that is exactly where I'm at in the stream and I paused it and came in here to say this shit's getting clown show good.
