Yes, when the country is on the gold standard, the amount of gold the fed controls dictates the buying power of the dollar. The value of gold dictates how many dollars they can print per bar they own. To maximize funds, they made private gold ownership illegal. All gold in the US was their gold. We're not on the gold standard anymore, though. We're on the imaginary numbers standard, where the paper is backed by literally nothing and we can print more of it endlessly for the small price of it being worth nothing. Because of that, private gold ownership is allowed again, because the fed has no use for it.

Let's see...you can press the 'I win' button and rule over the plebs endlessly, with no concern for what they want or think, or you can try to win fair and square, and if you don't bow to the whims of the filth you may lose, and while you're out of office you're losing out on billions of dollars of under the table deals and endless amounts of social reform and reshaping of the government to whatever you happen to want it to be.

This feels like a production by the same dramatists who sabotaged the Iraq War protests. When people started protesting Bush's march to war, the demonstrations quickly attracted nutjobs who tried to clown-car every absurd cause they could think of so you had unkempt weirdos yelling about Free Mumia and Meat is Murder. Bob Avakian commies joined the fray and every event had some guy taking the podium and calling for all communists and socialists to unite, and then they wondered why no politicians were willing to attend the rallies.

These hijinks ensured that the movement would go nowhere and accomplish nothing and now they're emptying the same loony bins into the Gaza protests. Occupy was unique in that it had a quick, snappy message that anyone could learn and repeat in a minute and in the beginning it wasn't saddled with circus freaks muddying the waters. It scared TPTB so much they enacted a complete transformation of Western culture to make sure the same thing could never happen again.

Yeah, he said proportionally and I understand that but it's shocking that he would've said that to begin with and that the entire Congress clapped afterwards, I had to do a double take when I heard that.

Hard not to sympathize with the Palestinians when they say stuff like that. One wonders why the Jews they are hated wherever they go.

When/if the history books accurately depict what went on with Oct 7. It's going to be wild. Israel observes Hamas planning an incursion. Probably knew all the details. Stands down to allow it to happen. Waits hours to respond. Then just fires missiles at everyone. Killing a shit tonne of their people with the Hannibal directive. Then immediately lie and cover it up. Taking people around burnt out wrecks and buildings. That weren't at all possible with the capabilities of Hamas weapons. Here's columns of destroyed cars that couldn't possibly of been done by Hamas.

Telling made up stories of beheaded babies and rapes. Everyone knows this is bullshit, but just quietly goes along with it letting Israel use it as justification for ethnically cleansing Gaza. Once done, they'll then finish the cleansing of the West Bank.

It's insane how fake and pretend everything is.
