Late to the party since I wasn't around when the thread went up, but I might as well toss in my own thoughts.

For me, since I'm relatively active in the Con scene, TB is a bit more than just 'some rando' on the Internet to me. I've met him a handful of times over the years and there's been a CLEAR decline in his mental state since he first hinted at the whole cancer deal before openly talking about it.

His content has always been a hit or miss thing for me. Theres plenty of it that I just don't even bother watching, but I will always have a soft spot for his Starcraft 2 live casting and the energy he brings to the sport.

Despite him essentially being on deaths door, watching him live cast at Blizzcon this year was a real throwback to the glory days for him, because I don't think I've seen him that 'in his element' and happy like that in some time.

That said, his political meltdown was fucking retarded, yet unsurprising, because he is rather shit at keeping his opinions to himself. And I can likely say with little doubt that it's only going to ramp up in the coming years as the cynicism fades away and he just shitposts perpetually.

Shits unfortunate, really. Not everyone can deal with popularity, and it shows more and more with e-celebrities and YouTube personalities(Tim Buckley, Penny Arcade, Egoraptor, etc.)

As for Jim, he's been an unfunny fuck since the first time I heard about him and there's not much more to add to that since I don't follow him in any way.

Eh, Jim's a tricky one. I actually quite enjoy the jimquisition about half the time. Digital homocide's temper tantrum at jims let's play is pretty lolcow and his ability to get under the skin of Konami is very funny.
His SJW shit comes from peers. a liberal worldview and his tendency to play office politics. He has some cringeworthy moments such as his awkward tendency to infer threesomes and gang bangs with his 'husky' wifu and like everyone on twitter says stupid shit. But mostly he's just an adequate journalist who churns out social concern puff pieces sometimes and is a little to pompous for his own good.
I have litterally no opinion on Total bisquit outside of the things said to him during gamergate showed how full of shit the 'valient' defenders of women really where, mocking people dying of cancer is despicable even by our standards.

Konami noticed him and blacklisted him, they are still a giant money making triple A publisher.
If anything Konami manages to get under jims skin without trying. Pretty much weekly jim has a good old cry about minor Fuck konami shit.
Jims very public beefs with the likes of EA and Gearbox may have gained him viewership but hes hardly stricking a blow and still buys games from these companys.

As TB is currently raising his wife's son (not joking), She sheds the fat until TB croaks and she can find a new father for her bastard child. He announced his terminal cancer in October of 2015 so the timeline actually matches up.

Women. Not even once.

To be fair, knowing that your husband has a terminal illness is a pretty damn good reason to lose weight and be there for your kid. TB is definitely an asshole but I don't think extending taunts to his future widow is necessary.

Avid follower of both of their content and admittedly a fan of both of them. Jim's pretty cringey but he gives me a laugh and I find him enjoyable enough to watch and listen to, and despite all of his misgivings the guy does manage to have his sources and get some fairly good info. Despite his almost childlike obsession with #FucKonami, he's managed to contact people within Konami itself to reveal some actually shitty things, so it's fairly reasonable.

TotalBiscuit's... , you know that guy that seems really cool and likable but the longer and longer you stick around you start to notice there are some... glaring issues that you just can't ignore? He's very... opinionated and not afraid of saying what he feels, but as he hilariously points out in a moment of self-clarity (before continuing to barrel on regardless), this backfires on him so much that his support staff over at the Cynical Brit have to basically keep an eye on his social media and reel him in when shit hits the fan. His Twitch had to be disconnected from all of his social media because, after Trump got elected, it descended into the amazing meltdown everyone is aware of where he essentially told all Americans to go fuck themselves. The guy has a very noticeable ego and the fact that his cancer means he might seriously die before Chris-chan means that his mental state might be starting to unravel.

I mean, that's kinda the looming threat of making your career on the Internet, and especially with a community as fickle as Gamers. In an audience laden with griefers, flamers, and assholes, you gotta just learn to block out the clear bait, or you're just gonna go down in flames somewhere down the line.

You might have missed it, but there was a game in late 2015 called "Tranny Gladiator". Unfortunate name aside, the person behind it was trying to "promote transgenderism in a fun way" and was a crossdresser themselves. Probably would've been a shitty game anyway, but the developer was either too out of touch or (going by their tweets) lacked the understanding of the English language necessary to understand the full meaning of the term.

So after catching wind of the thing, Laura Kate Dale starts throwing her weight around. Openly, of course.

"Nice game you got there. Shame if someone got... offended by it. Better make sure everything goes smoothly by paying a true and honest transwoman to look over the whole thing. Hey, what do you know, there is one right here!"

Ah, after a bit of quality journalism, the world is a better place!

As far as I know, the game is dead. Sure feels good to crush a small (and shitty, I admit) developer and make them the target of harassment and death threats, when all of this could have been done professionally via email. From their tweets it's clear that the developer was pro-trans, didn't want to offend anyone and would have made the change immediately.

A far better way of doing it would have been to upload videos named "(Konami game) not reviewed" and just shown a desktop image for fifteen minutes before giving a rating of zero. Sort of like how newspapers in apartheid era South Africa would protest censorship by leaving blank spaces where the censored articles would go.

Additionally, I'll say this: I think people (mostly men) debate the term so much because they imagine the tables turning. I think they start imagining a world where women (as a social power, not individually) treat them as poorly as patriarchy has treated women. And yet most want to claim ignorance when anyone talks about patriarchy, like it's not real. They can only imagine turnabout (or "revenge"), rather than a total paradigm shift. I think that's why they're afraid of he feminism label.

Hating Konami is pretty much a given at this point. Its like hating wasps. But no one does a weekly show about how shitty they are.
Sure he bemoans EA for their business practices to the point of blacklisting so now he has to pay to give COD a glowing review whilst moaning about season passes or micro transactions.

Rather than agree to the companys terms of conditions over what he couldnt say he gave the game (which he rather liked) a non review. Rather than telling us about all the positives and why we should buy it just telling he couldnt because of an embargo preventing him.

Hes tried to breathe life back into the Sc2 scene by hosting his own tournaments and owning his own team to give players a home to practice in and it didn't work out well which I'd have to imagine a big part was due to the cancer, and blizzards lack of own initiative.

60 fps police is also not a bad thing if you have any idea about how fucked publishers and developers are about providing quality ports to PC gamers. Not sure why it's even mentioned as if its a milking point.

60fps police is alright but often games are better where you can define a frame limit yourself (to avoid frame drops) but I think ulimited fps is more important
