These fucktards. So I'd like to know what exactly caused the 180 switch the moment April messaged Keanu.
There likely isn't just one thing and its not all about Nick. The drama between Geno/Keanu/Aaron is all tied up with the fallout over Compound Media's collapse, the subsequent factional re-alignment of the entire greater "dabbleverse" Sektor and Arron business dealings with Geno & Keanu.
- Compound Media was a company and studio in New York where Anthony Cumia was paying a whole bunch of idiots to be his entourage and to make him feel important. Geno in particular was receiving an obscene amount of money from Anthony.
- Geno was an inner solar system orbiter of Anthony. Aaron was orbiting out somewhere in the cold beyond Pluto. The power dynamics of that reality drove Aaron and Geno's relationship (business and otherwise) up to recently.
- Anthony Cumia reached a point where he wasn't willing to lose money at the rate he was to fund compound media and brought in Gavin McInnis to shut it down for him. Gavin wants Anthony and his content. Gavin doesn't care about the rest of them.
- Early on, Gavin made a public example out of Geno. He offered him a 90% pay cut. The theory is that he knew that Geno would either not take the offer & leave (humiliating Geno)....or that Geno would take the offer humiliating himself even more after which Gavin would have quickly dumped him anyway.
- Aaron stuck his nose into all the stuff that was going on at Compound Media in a way that made certain people angry at him. They were trying to save their careers in what amounted to a metaphorical burning building and Aaron was dancing around inside the building enjoying himself. Aaron had previously always been a good boy around the important people around Anthony but the collapse of Compound meant he could unleash in inner asshole on everyone. And he did. This is hardly surprising because Aaron is who he is.
- The loss of April was a big deal for Aaron's show. He seems to have tried to partially fill the void early on by paying Geno and Keanu to make appearances on the Steel Toe Show. It was intended (probably) to be a temporary arrangement. But as would be expected, there were different expectations on the two sides about what would be paid and what they would be doing. Geno and Keanu did not get whatever they thought they were being promised. The money from Aaron likely became a bigger thing as it became clear that Geno wasn't getting anymore anthony-money.
- When everything broke down, Geno and Keanu did what people in the greater dabbleverse always do. They weaponize their audiences against their enemies and start taking the side of the enemies of their enemy. So Keanu was suddenly the defender of coke whore April and Aaron was transformed into an evil wife-beating monster. All of its true. Aaron is far from a good person. But Keanu and Geno are not people who would take a moral stand about anything. I also wouldn't take anything she says about her deep friendship with April seriously. All of them are coin-operated and none of them "human" well.
So while all this is marginally entertaining, its best to remember (IMO) that these are all really bad cynical and manipulative people. None of them can be trusted and taking their public motivations for doing things seriously is usually a big mistake.
