Same here. And I thought that stupid emoji movie was dogshit. Hell, if memory serves, there was actual shit in it.

But this is beyond retarded, and I hope everyone involved dies a slow, painful, and ideally hilarious death.

Garry is a shockingly out-of-touch retard, which was hard to accept as someone who respected the work he did. I assumed a level of basic competence for most people who came up in that era of the internet and thought that Garry was likely a fairly intelligent person. I was wrong.

When he got trolled by fake Nintendo DMCAs in April/May 2024 he went on a multi-week 'confused old man' bender and eventually got mad at all the people who explained to him that:
1) Nintendo would send VALVE a DMCA, not send one directly to him
2) He wouldn't even get the DMCA, that's not how the Steam workshop works, Valve would action the request and then inform the uploader about the potential to submit a counternotification
3) Nintendo would not arbitrarily cite "all Nintendo IPs", they would provide links to specific mod pages on the Steam workshop
In addition to a dozen other inconsistencies with the email header that Garry had no idea even existed, down to the routing and email client used to send the email not matching actual Nintendo-Steam DMCA emails.

Garry went public and asked people to take their own files down themselves. And everyone was telling him this felt faked.

Then people with more direct access to him, explained hundreds of times, in as simple and obvious of language as possible. THIS. IS. FAKE. And no one could get through to him. He got mad, he lashed out at his "community", partially out of embarrassment, but mostly out of continued confusion. At this point the groups trolling him doubled down and went even harder selling their scam because it was hilarious at this point. I have no doubt in my mind he is now the #1 mark for multiple groups scheming how to extort him for money or credentials, given his considerable wealth and access to sensitive information.

The retard fails to realize that he is using Garry's mod assets, which are shared and free to be used by absolutely everyone, furthermore Garry's mod is just that mod to game that's owned by Valve, a million dollar corporation who fought Blizzard in court over Dota 2 and won.

Even at surface sending a DMCA to someone whose work predate yours for decades. Creator of Sikibidi toilet is high on his generation alpha supply, brain rot.

As if Sikibidi toilet shit wasn't hated enough. Sikibidi toilet NEEDS Garry's mod to create content. This is retarded on so many levels that could only end up ban of Sikibidi toilet creator from community, use of Garry's mod and resources from Half Life 2.

Don't piss off a community who is older, bigger than you and is supported by Valve. Only good things can come out of this DMCA, I'm sure.

If the owner claims to not be doing it, could it be someone in India filing under that name for whatever? Like the finger families except they use bootleg skibidi and are trying to do.... idk, something?
 
This could legitimately stir Gabe off his throne. Whoever is behind this DMCA is not just going after Garry's mod. It's going after Valve.

For those who need to know, Copyright exists in the same way schrodingers cat is alive or dead. It only matters if it's being observed. Valve never bothered with any copyright actions against Garry because it viewed his activity as good for business. Garry for his part was quite studious to not do anything that could piss off valve.

But now there is a DMCA on the table. The cat is being observed. If Valve doesn't respond they lose the copyright. Valve is going to respond.
