Skibidi Toilet - Skibidi wap-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa

Garry is a shockingly out-of-touch retard, which was hard to accept as someone who respected the work he did. I assumed a level of basic competence for most people who came up in that era of the internet and thought that Garry was likely a fairly intelligent person. I was wrong.
Yeah this is definitely a troll.
The "Nintendo" situation a few months ago made them realize they could totally fuck with Garry and get away with it, so now they're going to keep fucking with him until something prevents them, or they get bored. Whichever comes first.

Did a little surface level digging and yep pretty much seems like that's exactly what is going on here.

Invisible Narratives LLC or INVIZ, the agency responsible for this DMCA, is a "independent Hollywood entertainment studio" that is working alongside DaFuqBoom to expand the Skibidi series into a blockbuster franchise or at least that's what Washington post says. They are the guys responsible for the movie deal.

Their *other* website (there are two for some reason?) pretty much confirms this in their about page.

And if you have any doubts that these guys are the real deal Dafuq's merch store is run by them

I imagine this is going to really sour their business relationship, what a bunch of retards.
Whoever did it, they did it with 0 research. I guarantee they never even looked up what Garry's Mod was. When they fired that DMCA (which under US law is a legal declaration done under statute) it probably never even occurred to them they were taking a shot at the literal King of PC gaming. Gabe Newell (pbuh, long may he reign).
Here is what I think happened: Dafuq signed up with this company, and the contract probably had some clauses and language in it stating that Dafuq represents that Skidibi is his own original creation, not a derivative work, or tied up in any intellectual property agreements that would impair commercial use; and granting them the right to act as his agent in enforcing his copyright and shut down any unauthorized derivative works. I have never done any commercial contract stuff with copyright, but this strikes me as the kind of bog-standard stuff you would have in such a commercial copyright contract.

Dafuq probably only skimmed the contract, going "Uh huh. Yep. You sell merch, I get money. Sounds good, deal," without fully understanding or appreciating what he had agreed to or claimed to be true.

And so some office drone, taking that contract at face value, goes looking for unauthorized derivative works as part of shoring up copyright stuff in preparation for the movie deal, finds some video game called Gary's Mod, thinks it's some bootleg shit and fires off a DMCA, just like they've done a hundred times before.

You are quite right they did absolutely no research. If they had, there probably wouldn't be a movie deal, and Dafuq's contact would probably be under review as they found out Skibidi is a derivative work.

Another possibility is they do know that Skibidi is derivative, but greedily thinking they can scare Gary or Valve into giving up the rights, because Hollywood types are used to triumphing over nerds on the Internet when it comes to copyright, even when they shouldn't.

Law kiwis are welcome to tell me exactly how and why the above speculation is retarded.

Little Big didn’t die for this. Feels bad, man.

Edit: someone get Little Big to DMCA the Skibidi Toilet people. That’s the sort of legal infinity loop the gen alpha meme world deserves.
I hope this happens, because it would be so fucking funny.

Anyone involved in Destiny community ( the game not the goblin) would rember few years ago some retard pretend to be Bungie's copyright firm DMCA struck down several content creators and Bungie's OWN CHANNEL. Bungie got shit on so hard they file lawsuit to find this troll and garnish his wages for the rest of his life.

How the fuck can you own a bunch of mashed-up models?
Same way Ken Penders "owns" the concept of knuckles changing colors or robotnik having cyborg parts. Court retardation.

Still this isn't that, it seems to literally just be another false DMCA spam flag attack.

I heard a group of kids singing skibidi toilet a week ago, it was a painful experience.
The actual song isn't skibidi toilet, it's a mashup between 2 different popular songs that was a meme for a short while before skibidi toilet used it. 3 or 4 copyright troll "topic channel artists" claimed it as their own after skibidi toilet got big so that's a fun monetization hell.

Invisible Narratives is also trying to trademark the phrase "Skibidi Toilet" in the US. (A)

The only problem is there are 3 Chinese citizens (edit - Liao Junbin's trademark application SN 98130676 isn't showing up on WIPO) and two companies doing the same:
Jingjing Lin's trademark application SN 98099883 (A)
Pengfei Gan's trademark application SN 98274428 (not archiving for some reason)
Next Level Apps Technology's trademark application SN 79400196 (A)
Next Level Apps Technology's trademark application SN 79387724 (A)
Mimas LLC's trademark application SN 98344747 (A)

Meanwhile some Ukrainian guy who has a business in UAE (same one as two of the trademark applications above) has claimed copyrights to the Skibidi characters - unless he's dahfuqboom?
