UK 'Major incident' after reports of stabbing and 'number of casualties' in Southport

Police have declared a "major incident" in Southport after reports of a stabbing and a "number of reported casualties".

Police said a knife had been seized and that a man had been detained but urged the public to avoid the area near Hart Street.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following a major incident this morning, Monday 29 July.

"At around 11.50am, we were called to a property on Hart Street to reports of a stabbing.

"There are a number of reported casualties and more details will be confirmed when possible.

"Armed police have detained a male and seized a knife. He has been taken to a police station.

"Please avoid the area while we deal with this incident. There is no wider threat to the public."

This breaking news story is being updated and more details will be published shortly.

I disagree. Mancunian is overwhelming local Cheshire and east lancs accents because it's a huge conurbation with extensive motorway connections, with everything in range of the M60 and its spurs being dormitory towns for city workers, like a miniature London. Liverpool's influence is much smaller, due to its historically shit economy, and concentrated mostly along the M53 corridor to the south and the M62 corridor to the east, where it competes with Manchester for Warringtonites. Lancashire accents are still very much alive and kicking.

I caught the BBC playing the stuff with the woman towards the end. She came through very clearly but couldn't hear him, not certain if it was their recording, they edited him out or he edited his voice into this video. Either way it's not a happy crowd.

That said his accent is not far away. I'd guess - ninja'd by someone who can't cope with seasoning.

Their volume is not. It feels like the Scouse accent is spreading because the one table of them in a pub can be heard three streets away.

The article in the Southport newspaper was a a bit all over the place. I'm sure it said he has been training since 1996 but moved to UK in 2002. Mentions three countries he has lived in two continents but doesn't mention the third. The account in the screenshot above hinted at some ties to Somalia too. Interesting to see what comes


And yes if he was involved at all then surely the most basic thing he would do is change his name?

The timings don’t add up if axel was born in 1996.
If he was an Interahamwe we let in then the government is going to have some explaining to do, or maybe it’s something completely different and I’m on the wrong track. Let’s see what that twitter account comes out with

Something happening in Southport around the corner from the vigil that just finished. Sergeant told me they nicked someone. People saying he was wearing a balaclava. Probably not related but not often you see something like this in Southport. This happened on Princes Street. Still lots of sirens.

Assuming this is legit this is fucking retarded unless they have a backup to release when the authorities do nothing but sit on it. Have they not paid attention to the Rotherham coverup.

From what I can infer from the comments, this is about Anaclet Rudakubana, who was involved in the Rwandan genocide. They're speculating that he fled and changed his name. Anaclet would probably be too old to be the father though if he was such a high ranking politician in 1994, more likely that he was the grandfather or possibly uncle, assuming they are are related and don't just happen to have the same name.

That’s why I asked who the father’s father was. The UK has literally hundreds of suspected war criminals allowed to remain here. For clarity, none of these are anyone I’m saying is involved in the Stockport killing, these are just five men known to have committed war crimes in Rwanda (as in almost certain to the point they wanted to extradite them) who have leave to remain in the Uk.
