It's at cross purposes with part of Trump's messaging, which is "confidence and command are good qualities in a leader, not scary like the democrats would have you believe."

The degree to which that story has been basically buried irks me a lot. Aside from the updates in here as the interviews go on the worldwide media has gone "oh, it was just attempted murder of a presidential candidate in the lead country of the Western world. Why are you so focused on it, that's so weird?"

I do. However being in the UK currently I have a more recent atrocity rather than American politics to hammer home for people. That said showing Google burying search results has started amusing discussions in the workplace this week.

You probably do have some horror stories, then. I'd also have to be really careful about PL, but I've been privy to some of the stuff that's happening in lawsuits being brought by people who were fired for not taking the clot shot. To the surprise of absolutely no one, at least one major industrial player with government contracts had fired a large number of workers after denying their religious exemption claims.

I don't think it would be wise or even ethical to share any details of witness testimony, but it sure looks to me like these people filed their claims properly and did so based on a sincerely held religious belief. You're right about everything you said here, and if it weren't for the coof Megathread I doubt we'd have any useful chronologies of that time period or how insane it was.

The Trump response to Project 2025 is him realizing it was a ticking bomb left by pissy Desantis people who wanted to run on hardcore '04 tough talk gayness. The team at least realizes, unlike Meatball and other Washington Generals of the GOPe, you run soft then do the mean things anyway because now you have power, you don't show your cards right now.

The way those crooked fucks treated Melania did a lot to convince a lot of women I know that the Democrat party was no longer of any value whatsoever. One of these women was a hardcore Hilldawg supporter, and watching the left suddenly isolate and attack Melania struck a wrong chord with her and Trump ended up being better than she had been told, so in 2020 she voted Trump and plans to again in 2024.

Melania gets a lot of shit for her nude modeling, and sure I can see the argument that she ain't with a 78 year old billionaire purely out of romantic love - but they have really treated her like an utter piece of shit and the woman simply doesn't deserve it. Even with her modeling past I feel like she's the best FLOTUS of my life - both the Bush women carried an air of the type of rich old bat you'd see cheering your death in a colosseum for their amusement. Hillary reeked of unlikeable murderous bitch. Mike Obama was a race agitating piece of shit. And Jill Biden is a power hungry "teacher" seeking to punish the world for her insecurities. Melania was the first one I remember who seemed like if a poor person approached her on the street without cameras on, she wouldn't recoil and act in disgust. She is beautiful and elegant to look at, but still seems human and smiles with warmth. You can tell a lot about a woman by how she is as a mother, and I feel that Melania has done well with Barron and if anything prioritized him over being FLOTUS more than a few times.

Also it was nice to have a First Lady who was not fat, old or black and who I would have sex with.

I find it odd that no one has taken the "lets get weird" angle yet. There is a sense that you do not want to play into your enemies stereotypes of you, but the phrase is already popular enough and has the "white-boy summer" vibe.

Have always been seen as weird my entire life. Being called weird is just another day on planet earth. It's good to stand out from a cattle minded society.

I like the word 'weird' when used properly. I hate it when people misuse and overuse terms I like and you overhear it in such a stupid way that it makes you dislike the word on its own. Blah.
