The government is really sneeding hard about Jack Teixeira this year. (This is the 18 yr/old who posted classified docs to a Minecraft server to win a War Thunder argument.)
Fascinating security failure. Somehow my man was able to repeatedly access classified information without a need-to-know (the process that’s supposed to happen is approval to look at classified data needs to be coordinated months in advance with the presiding security office.) I’d also like to note that classified networks are supposed to be air-gapped, with no way to export classified data without express permission of the security office. Classified exports are then supposed to be tracked until the destination security office can confirm they’ve received the export to the originating security office.
This behavior apparently continued even after he was directly told to stop doing it. (This should result in a revocation of his security clearance, being discharged, or being arrested.) He then proceeded to be written up again for continuing this behavior even after he was told to stop the first time. Even after all this, he still continued to view classified intelligence information unrelated to his primary job duties.
The US government wants you to know that he displayed extremist views, exhibited disloyalty to the U.S. government, and talked about his interest in racist and white nationalist propaganda. He also shared his fascination with weapons and war. As a deeply loyal US citizen and a staunch supporter of Israel, I am frankly shocked and dismayed by these revelations.
I don’t want to see any of you racists in this thread suggesting there may be a connection between the DEI competency crisis and the cascade of security failures that led to an 18 yr old being able to post information that the federal government literally spends billions to protect.
